Last week I wrote a prayer for a season of change and very quickly I realized that I wasn’t the only going through a season of change. Many readers echoed the prayer and gave a hearty amen through their shares and pins.

My experience is that prayer and Bible reading are the best solution for stability when things are changing. So after a little research, I wanted to share with you these Bible verses for when things are changing in our lives- a reminder that God is in control and He never changes.

Entering a season of change? Find strength from the One who never changes.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Heb. 13:8

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. Matt. 24:35

I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. Ps. 40:1

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. Eccle. 3:11

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world in the things that have been made. Rom. 1:20

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. Ps. 90:2

For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night. Ps. 90:4

Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Ps. 90:14

But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children, Ps. 103:17

but you are the same, and your years have no end. Ps. 102:27

For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10

  1. Thanks for your posts! I always love to read Phil 1:6, when things are changing: And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6 NLT)…helps me remember the planning of my creator and that this change is bringing about changes for HIS good, that I might continue to be more like Him. When there’s a reason for the change, it’s easier to trust!

  2. P.S. Isaiah 43 applies to yesterday’s post as well as today.

  3. Hi Rachel,

These scriptures have spoken to my heart when I have needed them. Jeremiah 31:3 and Isaiah 43:18-19 both Amplified Version. Speaks of God’s everlasting love and faithfulness and choosing not to remember the things gone by because He is creating a new thing.

    Thank you Rachel.

    Blessings,

    Joanne
