The fabulous Scripture tea post is still kicking from yesterday as part of Karen Ehman’s Vintage Week. How fun to participate and if you’ve missed out, my giveaway is going to be open through Monday, Sept. 2nd, so be sure to check out everything going on at Karen’s and be sure to check out yesterday’s post.

We’ve been in a heavy season of change around the Woj house for about the last month. The children are all growing so quickly and between my oldest, Tiffany, getting married, the baby bed being replaced with a toddler bed (can’t believe there is no baby bed up in this house after almost 12 years of having one), my Tristina decided to get her long hair cut short (she grew up overnight!), and school starting (Our family has 5 schools being attended this year besides the two little ones doing homeschool preschool), wow, do I ever need this prayer!

Guessing you might need it too. So I wanted to share. Be blessed!

A Prayer for a Season of Change

Dear Heavenly Father,

Just when we settle into a pattern,

things change far too quickly.

One door opens; another closes.

We rise, we eat, we sleep.

We smile, we laugh, we cry.

Change itself is ever changing and

Lord, if I’m truthful, I don’t like change.

Because I desire the control.

Will you forgive my lack of understanding

that Your creation of seasons is exquisite?

Would you remind me that the ebb and flow of life

is rippled by the gifts of love and laughter?

And that life is measured by memories, not minutes?

May the season of change fuel me forward

to another beautiful season of

the blessing of Your Almighty hand.

In Jesus’ name,

a prayer for a season of change

  1. Rachel, thank you for sharing this prayer… letting go of the way things used to be and learning to accept God’s changing seasons of life… it is only through prayer, faith and trust that this acceptance of his greater plan takes place, through His gift of the Holy Spirit! Thanks for this prayer on this day!

    1. Amen and amen. Praise Jesus for the Holy Spirit. You are so very welcome- God is gracious!

  2. Thank you my friend for the reminder that I do not need control over all of the changes taking place. God is there and went before me, He knew exactly where to put me. Thank goodness!

  3. Rachel, will you start this over next year?

    1. In some way, shape or form, yes. Still praying about exactly what God wants that to look like. 🙂

  4. Heather P says:

Still on track with the reading! I appreciate your prayer you posted. Praying also for the teachers still working on schedules for their students. My daughter with Down Syndrome started 7th grade this week.

    1. Way to go, Girl! Thank you and blessings to your sweet girl on the beginning of a new school year!
