Each week I post a summary of the previous week’s Scriptures so we can review and retain what we’re learning. This month we’ve been focused on cultivating a grateful heart. So now that you understand the logistics, let’s check out what the reading has meant to us this week. Ready?

Psalm 107:1-9

This morning I’ve been struggling with dissatisfaction. I have so much, so very much, to be thankful for, yet this inner battle wages war on my contentment. Father, flood my soul with gratefulness for your love and mercy. Let me remember that you redeemed my life

This morning I’ve been struggling with dissatisfaction. I have so much, so very much, to be thankful for, yet this inner battle wages war on my contentment. Father, flood my soul with gratefulness for your love and mercy. Let me remember that you redeemed my life. I wandered and you gave me direction. I hungered for more, not understanding that the desire to chase after more can only be filled by you. Thank you for delivering me and especially today, thank you for delivering me from myself. Pour your Spirit into my heart anew this morning so that it overflows into the lives of those you place on my path to love. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.

Psalm 107:10-21

I’m really working on it this month. This whole thing of living a life of thanksgiving and doing things well, not because I always want to do them or even enjoy doing them, but because every thing I’m assigned to do can be used to bring God glory.

There’s a lot about life that doesn’t show up on social media. Amen? I mean, you probably weren’t expecting to see chicken fajitas in your feed this morning, because, well, it’s morning.
But today’s verse is more than a morning Bible verse reminder. It is truly how I long to live life, yet often struggle with from day to day. There’s a lot of mundane that must be done and frankly, I like the marvelous more. So I’m really working on it this month. This whole thing of living a life of thanksgiving and doing things well, not because I always want to do them or even enjoy doing them, but because every thing I’m assigned to do can be used to bring God glory. Even cooking fajitas for 7. ?
What’s your mundane thing you can thank God for today? ?

Psalm 107:22-31

Monday is here. It’s the one day of the week that challenges my perspective more than others. Maybe you too?

Monday is here. It’s the one day of the week that challenges my perspective more than others. Maybe you too? But I’ve found that when I’m careful to acknowledge what I’m thankful for? A gratitude attitude can easily change a manic Monday into marvelous! So thankful God has given me another day today. Happy Monday!

Psalm 100:1-5

A few months back, I lost two of the primary caregivers who help with Taylor’s care. It meant a season of caring for my family without assistance, relying on God for every moment because I couldn’t do it all myself. I asked you to pray.

A few months back, I lost two of the primary caregivers who help with Taylor’s care. It meant a season of caring for my family without assistance, relying on God for every moment because I couldn’t do it all myself. I asked you to pray. I asked friends to pray. It took 21 interviews to hire 2 caregivers, but they are both gifts from God. Jamie has the most tender heart and cares for Taylor as if she were her own daughter. My children have seen all types of people in our home and this week, my oldest son commented, “Mom, Jamie is here every day.” So if you feel like no one notices your commitment, think again. Some teenager could be silently thanking you for helping his mama and his very ill sister. Father, this morning I give thanks for your presence and your provision. Help me walk with you today. #withthanksjournal#biblereading #biblereadingplan

Colossians 3:12-17

That day is ahead. When sorrow and suffering cease and all is right in the world again.

That day is ahead. When sorrow and suffering cease and all is right in the world again. But until Jesus comes, we can give thanks to Him for what He will do. Because of Who He is. Hallelujah! And it’s Friday!

Psalm 69:29-34

When distress is ever-present, it requires digging deep to be thankful. I have a heart appreciation for the verse prior to this one: “But I am afflicted and in pain; let your salvation, O God, set me on high!” Clearly the psalmist wasn’t in a perfect situation when he chose to praise God and thank Him. What an example for me today! Hope you’re having a super Saturday! #withthanksjournal #biblereadingplan

That’s a Bible reading wrap for this week. Let’s continue to work on growing a grateful heart.

Happy Thanksgiving!

By his grace,

Rachel
