I can hardly believe that we are at the end of the True Love Bible Reading Summary week 4! This reading plan has been such a blessing to me personally as the reminders of God’s love for us and how our love for others should show. Let’s take a look at this week’s reminders. The thoughts below are the key takeaways I had after reading the daily passage. Don’t forget I’d love to read about what you’ve been learning too!
1 Peter 4:1-8
Love covers a multitude of sin. It surely does. And if all we remember is that one thought today, it can change everything!
I don’t know how sinful dragonflies are, but love covers them too!
1 Peter 3:8-12
Unity. Christians, we are all in this together. We love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and want to share it. So let’s love each other and others!
Ephesians 4:10-16
Christ as the head leads us to grow in love. When each part of the body listens to the Spirit living inside of us, then there is unity. Oh the power of his love!!
Philippians 2:1-11
This passage is so rich. The love of Jesus cannot be measured and he emptied himself for us. I think the highlight for me in this Scripture reading is that love is humble. It acts in humility. I’ve been pondering this for a few days off and on.
Colossians 3:8-15
So Paul lists some beautiful traits we should possess as Christians in today’s #truelove #biblereading Kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, forgiveness. But the thread that ties it all together? Love. Seems simple enough, yet life (and people) can be so unlovely. We shouldn’t confuse unlovely with unlovable. God’s love supernaturally loves everyone. So this is how we love the largest- through His power. Now go love somebody!
I wonder what would happen if when we dressed each morning, we envisioned a beautiful braid of love connecting us to all those who cross our paths.
John 14:21-27
I was confused for many years about why Christians should obey God’s Word. Somehow I thought you did it just because it was the right thing to do. But without love, as we’ve discovered all month in the #truelove #biblereading challenge, we have nothing. We obey BEcAUSE we love!
John 15:9-13
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love…. John 15:9
And that’s my short summary for this week! What did you learn? I’d love to read about it today in the comments. Happy Friday, Friends!
Rachel

By his grace,
Rachel
If you are struggling with someone in your life, pray for them. You will learn to love them. Praying verses like these, in love, you can’t stay angry at someone, your dislike can turn to like to a love like Jesus.
I loved these verses, they reminded me that Jesus loves me even when I’m not perfect and I can love other when they are not perfect. When we have been hurt by someone, we forget that they are just like us, they are not perfect, and just need to be forgiven and loved. After all, Jesus died for them too.
#truelove…speak the truth in love…love makes the world go around
#truelove…Christ’s love comforts us…Redemption!
#truelove…love is a key ingredient
#truelove…if you truly love God you will accept and obey his commandments
#truelove…The greatest love a person can have for his friends is to give his life for them.
#truelove…we are God’s friends if we do what He commands and His command is that we love one another
WONDERFUL!! Thank you for sharing, Malika!
I have learned that all I should be doing is loving people and praying for them. This will open the door for God to change them. If we follow Gods commands then he hears us and will answer our prayers. All we need to do is Love others. I have been praying for God to just allow me to be the one that Loves the person and then releases them totally to him. In the past I have had a hard time doing this but after our Bible reading this month I see how important this practice is.
that is beautiful, Barbara!! I’m so glad you’ve joined in!
