Welcome to the Light Bible reading challenge summary week 3!
Hey there! Welcome to the Light Bible reading challenge summary week 3! Here we are already- wow, time surely has flown this month.

I had a great time chatting with you for a few minutes on Periscope last night! If you missed it, you can catch the recording here.

Let’s take a look at the summary for this week. Ready?

Proverbs 4:13-19

I really wanted to art journal this verse and the time constraints over the weekend didn’t allow for it. But I’ve marked it and if I have the opportunity over the two weeks the children are out of school for Christmas break, I’m going to journal this!

But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn,
which shines brighter and brighter until full day.

Isaiah 5:16-21

When I posted the schedule on instagram for this day. my friend, Jen at This Gal’s Journey and I chatted for a minute. I thought I’d share our conversation in case you missed it:

  • thisgalsjourneyVerse 19 stopped me in my tracks. So many times in this upheavaled journey the past two years I’ve said, “God, I wish you’d just hurry up and tell us what this is all about!” What a sobering reminder to not only trust Him, but everything that entails including His timing.
  • rachelwojo@thisgalsjourney when I was preparing the plan, I wept over that section. I’ve prayed like you mentioned time and time again in the past. Praise the Lord he is teaching me to know better.
  • thisgalsjourney???

Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood,
    who draw sin as with cart ropes,who say: “Let him be quick,

    let him speed his work
    that we may see it;
let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near,
    and let it come, that we may know it!”

Isaiah 58:1-8

The prophet is given a word from the Lord to preach to the people. The people had been begging God to meet with them, to give them healing, to renew their strength. And the Lord said, “I want to give you healing. But enough with your sitting around in fasting and prayer, waiting for change.” He gives them the secret to the fast track of healing. “Get up and do something for me. Feed a hungry mouth. Clothe a cold body. Love a lonely heart. And then? Your bones will be renewed to their younger years. Bring light to the darkness and your light shines brighter.”#thelight #biblereading

Penciled in; subject to change. 😉 but God’s Word? Never changes!

...if you pour yourself out... then your light will shine like the darkness and your night shall be as the noonday. Wow- I just love #thelight #biblereading passages so much!

Luke 11:33-36

I had so much I wanted to journal on this passage and didn’t get it completed. I did a lot of meditating on this passage and felt drawn to focus on verse 34:

Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness.

Isaiah 42:1-9

The reason he came. To flood a dark world with his light and life. I've sat in prisons of my own making, feeling the darkness saturate my being to the point of wanting to give up. But he delivered me!! And now my heart declares that the Lord of light desires to free you from any prisons in your life. Discouragement, depression, fatigue, hopelessness, helplessness, heartache, hurting. No matter the prison, the Light of the world longs to break into the depths of the blackest night and fill your heart with purpose. Glory to God in the highest! #thelight #biblereading
