Has sorrow ever caused you to feel like you are drowning? It surely has for me. We’re definitely not the only ones to feel this way. As the old hymnwriter, Horatio Spafford, penned the words to “It Is Well With My Soul,” his heart drowned in grief from the loss of his beautiful little girls. His words have since comforted many souls including my mama’s.
At the beginning of each chapter of my new book, One More Step, a phrase from an old hymn is quoted. I grew up singing Christian hymns around the piano with my family. The depth of the hymns’ words came to life for me when I recommitted my life to Christ after my divorce all those years ago. I wanted to share the deep meaning of the hymns with you and that is the reason for the beginning hymn quotes in each chapter.
For more enjoyment, I’m sharing this FREE printable/digital download, The Hymns Behind One More Step. You’ll find more anecdotes like the one above, as well as the lyrics and music to the hymns mentioned throughout the book.
I pray you find this treasury of word and song a beautiful comfort and encouragement to take
one more step.
With much love,
