Welcome to the Thankful Grateful Blessed Bible Reading & GRATITUDE Challenge

A friend stopped by yesterday, and her words reminded me that I have so much to be thankful for. God is good. All the time. Truthfully I didn’t want to host a thankful grateful blessed Bible Reading & Gratitude challenge in my current season. Thankful in trying times? Grateful that things don’t seem to be going the direction I believe they should? How do I consider myself blessed amid struggles? (Ye s, my hubby is still job-searching. Yes, my heart still aches in grief for my Taylor girl. Every day. It’s only been a year since I lost my dad and less since my father-in-law left us for heaven.)

Maybe you know what I’m talking about. It’s easy to ask questions that fall in line with our emotional state, and harder to be purposeful to count the blessings.

But when I reflect back on the lessons I’ve learned from gratitude, I know that the discipline of remembering to give thanks is worth every moment of peace it ushers in.

I also know that in scarcity, there is enormous power in gratitude.

Being thankful transforms a challenged heart into a cheerful heart.

As Paul reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Gratitude is an exercise in muscle memory. The more we work our voices in thanks, the easier it is to see all we have to be thankful for! I’m so grateful for the words of the friend who stopped by yesterday. (Thanks, Jill!)

Join me as we walk through 31 days of pausing to read what God’s word says about thankfulness. I’m excited about having daily gratitude prompts- reasons to remember to give thanks in all circumstances. Let’s journal fresh gratitude to cultivate a happy heart; are you ready?

INTRODUCTION to the Challenge

Each month I host a monthly Bible reading plan and journal challenge to help our community enjoy reading God’s Word together and encourage our hearts to be faithful to Him.  Together, we have completed over 40 Bible reading plans, including both annual and monthly reading challenges. I’ve developed all sorts of strategies to help us read God’s word faithfully and there is nothing like this monthly system we are working through together.

Many readers have requested that I list our monthly resource at the beginning of this announcement post because you already know you want it and don’t need the details. So here you are! This month’s Bible reading plan includes a devotion AND journaling section, available for purchase as a digital download.
