What a week we've had in the Woj house! I pray that things haven't been quite as crazy for you as they have here in my home. I can tell you this: God has a way of working in my own life through the monthly Bible reading challenges.  And this month's challenge? No different. If you're new here, each month I host a Bible reading challenge and each week, we glance together in our community to review the key verses and thoughts so that we can retain what the Lord is teaching us. Let's check out the No Fear Bible reading plan and journal week 2 summary!

Hebrews 13:1-8

I always love it when the New Testament writers echo the words of the Old Testament. Father, I call out to you for help this day. Lead me and guide me. Help me remember that you are always with me and I have no cause to be afraid. Let my faith be strengthened and tower over any lurking fear. Thank you, Jesus.

Sunday morning my husband left the house early for worship team practice. I heard him go into Taylor’s room to check on her before heading down the stairs. Her breathing was so light that he thought she had gone on to heaven for a moment. We both know that will be the reality at some point in her journey, and it’s getting more real by the day. But honestly, neither of us fear that moment of bad news. She will be free from disease, healed in heaven. Could anything be greater news: her ability to talk and walk and chew and swallow and sing and play and praise—- all completely renewed in a glorious body no longer suffering in pain and distress?? I can think of no more beautiful news. I am not afraid of death for my girl. My heart trusts the Lord. His way and his timing is nothing less than perfect because of his love for us. Have no fear; you will look in triumph. The battle is the Lord’s! #nofearjournal #nofear#biblereadingplan #biblereading

I had no idea what the next hour would hold when I read today’s Bible reading plan and posted the verse of the day this morning. At 7:55am, our Taylor had a seizure that would not stop with emergency meds and lasted for almost an hour in continuous waves. Many thanks to the first responders who issued more meds; she is stable and we are home. Be sure to hug those you’ve been entrusted with tonight. Whisper that you love them and God loves them. Praise the Lord for the gift of this present moment and trust Him at all times. God is good. He is good even when our hearts hurt for those we love. He is good when we walk through pain and suffering that we can’t wrap our heads around. He is good even if. #nofear#nofearjournal #praisehimanyway#thenextmile

Isaiah 12:1-6

Oh Father, thank you for your salvation. I trust you in all things today. Help me rely on your strength. Fill my heart with your song. Thank you for saving me- especially from myself. Thank you that I don’t have to be afraid of whatever comes my way.

Not today. We won’t fear. We won’t grow anxious about the future or worry about tomorrow. We won’t waste time wishing yesterday was different. Nope. Right here, right now, we give thanks. Thankful for family who drives miles just to hug us. Thankful for a sister who reminds us of the blessings of today instead of focusing on the hard. Simple things like free ricotta cheese (long story.) Free much-needed droppers from the pharmacist. The vacuum cleaner repaired without charge. And mostly another moment to praise the Lord for his tender mercies. He will give them again tomorrow. Hallelujah, I’m so grateful. Good night from Taylor and her mama. #praisehimanyway

Zephaniah 3:14-20

2 Chronicles 20:14-21

That.

Psalm 27:1-8

We are all fighting armies and waging wars. The evil enemy longs for nothing more than to paralyze us in fear. He promotes panic in order to prevent victory. He ignites fear in hopes of prevailing over faith. I don’t know about you, but I choose to rest in the strength of the Lord. My heart shall not be afraid. I am confident in my God. He is my Light, my Salvation and my Stronghold. Hallelujah. #nofearjournal #biblereadingplan #nofear#biblereading

I’m praising the Lord this morning that his mercies are new again and again. Just having the opportunity to pause and pull this summary together for ya’ll has blessed me. I pray it does the same for you. Have a great week as we continue to walk through this month’s Bible reading plan!

By his grace,

Rachel
