Have you ever wondered if God really exists?

On several occasions in the last month, I’ve received negative comments on my social media feeds from people who don’t believe in God. One of the comments that really stuck with me was:

This would be a great resource, if God really existed. All comments welcome.

Now a blog post won’t cover the entire spectrum of this topic by any means, but today I wanted to share a few points if you need proof that God exists or if someone you know needs proof that God exists.

Because the God I serve not only exists, he is alive and actively working through his spirit on this earth as he reigns from heaven.

While I sincerely hope to provide insight to you about the existence of God, keep in mind that believing in God obviously requires faith to believe what one cannot directly see.

I can’t see air. But I know that it is there because I see the effects of air when the wind blows.

I’ve seen so much of God in my lifetime that there is NO way that I could deny his existence. He has made himself known to me in so many overwhelming ways, including his word, the actions and words of other people, and his creation. For today, let’s take a look at his creation. Check out a few beautiful photos from my summer mission trip to Africa.

While I was in Africa, I couldn’t help but think about this passage from Paul:

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:18-20

Paul is telling us that God clearly reveals himself through nature.

I recently discovered an incredible resource that offered the following statistics if you’ve ever wondered it God really exists.

    • Did you know that it takes 2 million flowers to make just 1 lb of honey?
    • Did you know that bees actually dance in order to communicate geolocation? Forget satellites and GPS!
    • Did you know that wolves can smell other animals over 1.5 miles away?
    • Did you know that camels can close their noses during sand storms?

The following video is from The Master Designer dvd series. Check it out!

You can find The Master Designer dvd here for more information. This DVD sparked wonderful conversation with my kiddos and I’m sure it will for yours too!

I’d like to close this post with a list of five incredible resources for uniting faith and fact in beautiful honor of the Creator of the universe. Here we go!

1. The Case for Christ: A Journalist’s Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus (Case for … Series)

I read this book in college many years ago. (I won’t say how many.) Even as one who grew up attending church, I learned so much from this wonderfully analytic and curious resource.

2. Exploration Films

This company is wonderfully rich in resources like the DVD preview I provided above.

3. Created Cosmos – Special Edition – Blu-ray

While I’m way overdue on a trip to the Creation Museum, this Blue Ray is also available in downloadable format at a fraction of the cost. Perfect for at-home science class!

4.The Case For A Creator: A Journalist Investigates Scientific Evidence That Points Toward God (Strobel, Lee)

I also read this book way back in college. Lee has such a way of providing details that stop and make us think about creation.

5.That’s Where God Is
This book is an incredible resource of children and adults alike! If you want your children to truly understand how to seek God in everyday life, this beautiful resource will help you accomplish just that.

Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow!

  1. Hi Rachel,

Thank you for giving hope and encouragement to so many people on their Christian walk of faith. You know that people who deny the existence of God are the same ones who can’t prove that He doesn’t exist. They continue to try to silence our praise and adoration. Now, I don’t know what you can say to convince someone God exists, but your message reminds me of what Jesus told his disciples. He said to “let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven (Matt 5:16). I believe someone will see God through your words and actions and begin to know Him for herself. So keep revealing God’s light in everything you do. Some non-believer is on the cusp of a breakthrough.

Hi RACHEL , and all the others that keep the links together. God Bless You All
I’m new with all this, not the word of God as much but keeping up the commitment of staying steadfast in the Lord. I talk with Jesus all day long, but when it comes to reading and writing my feelings never did come easy, even an unknown reason with the Lord. Maybe to many excuses!! I loved the years when I couldn’t wait till I could read his word, apply it to my life, and craw in my closet and pray. I was blessed with many of his mighty gifts that He wants you to seek. Not everyone believes so I’ll keep it simple:) For the last 18yrs I have studied out of my12step Recovery Bible. I want to learn how to get involved with others even if it’s chatting or one on one. I’ve read so much of about 4 different pages of all this amazing dedication of groups of women and the leaders of many pages I have drifted though, that I’m kinda confused a little but the pages keep leading me to the same circle of devotions, prayers, printable ways to start a new journey of becoming more committed to God and learn to write to my Amazing God along with the consent prayers and talks though the day. My life has been really rough the last few years, and so many times I wonder if I would ever make it if the Lord didn’t place my husband in my life 7 yrs ago. We just celebrated our 2yrs of marriage on 9-1. He is a man of INTEGRITY.. but I know with my ups and downs I have seen my effect on him. He has held us together, and it’s my time to join him! We have started a new habit every morning with a devotional and Just For Today, and reading a book together BREAKING BAD HABITS AND MAKING NEW HABITS, it’s been so awesome. He is a baby in Christ, and times I feel God telling me I need to go back to being that baby with him. I’m not sure if I should go into my life telling the things I’m praying for. I feel that God has lead me to these pages,I sat down at 2pm today and haven’t moved from reading. I so badly need to work His promises in my life, worship and give Him all the glory, use the words of power to keep me safe and close, I believe the devil is attacking heavily on my husband and myself due to our new morning of putting God first and trusting that a lot of our stink’n think’n will change. I’m just wanting to serve the Lord so much right now, I think I started because of health reasons and believing by His stripes I WILL BE HEALED, of so much pain, and mental illness. I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired!! Depression, Pain, Loneliness, all around about, feeling Spiritually, Mentally, Physically robbed of Peace and Joy and all he has for me. I want the promise of Peace to the point of no human mind could ever understand how He will and can change us from the inside to out. When I slacked and backslide these last few years of life happening for the worse, when I should have been literally sitting on His lap and clinging on for dear life, why, I know, it’s been a few times I have played the fence post and how my life goes to HELL, and when I walk with Him, how awesome I find life struggles, storms, whatever stones may be thrown in my path, I trust, I speak, I believe God all things are possible, and a lesson will be learned or He is preparing for something. I haven’t found a church, nor have friends where I live. When I married, I moved away from my group of women that stood in the gap when anyone of us was being attacked. I need to find a group, and I would like to try to start here since I have been inspired so much these last 7hrs.. Thank you for letting the Lord use you in ways of reaching out to the lost, backsliders, and the babies looking for that void to fill. God Bless you and all the others that again linked together. I pray that my comment is seen by the other women leaders that take time to do God’s work, As well, those out there feeling hopeless, know there is hope, strength, courage, and so much more, IT IS NEVER TO LATE FOR NONE OF US. IT’S NOT TO LATE FOR ME AS A CHILD OF CHIRST HE WILL FINISH IN ME WHAT HE STARTED AND ALL IT TAKES IS WILLINGNESS, AND ME HITTING BOTTOM….

People in love often glow when together, with a visible aura of light. God is love and love is God. Personally, I’ve never experienced anything else that measures up.

  4. Hi rachel!

I found you on pinterest and now i just cant stay away! Today i was feeling down then i seen i had an email from your blog! Now my spirit is feeling great again! Thaks for the motivation!! God bless!!

  5. Thank you so much for standing up for us all who believe He is alive, and that He is the Creator of all things. Like a previous comment, I commend you for dealing with negativity in such a positive way. We as Christians are to spread the message and the love of Christ, and I think you did it in a wonderful way. Those tools(books/dvd’s) are great for us all, even as believers. =)

  6. Yvonne L. says:

Amen ! and Amen! Rachel you go girl.

  7. Rachel,

Thank you so much for addressing this issue – I love your blog and your willingness to allow the Holy Spirit to work through you! The resources you have listed look helpful, especially the DVD. My husband and I rely a lot on Ravi Zacharias and C.S. Lewis for Christian philosophy and the argument for Christ, but the DVD series looks like something our boys could also benefit from. I am excited about that!

  8. Rachel – Thank you for addressing this subject and addressing negative comments in such a positive way. We will never change everyone’s mind about God – but we can show them His love. I am so thankful for parents that taught me about the Lord. Not everyone has had that blessing in life. However, I don’t believe in Him because of that alone. I believe in Him because of how evident He has been in my life. My favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know that plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you. To give you a future and a hope.” God loves each and everyone of us – even the ones who don’t believe in Him.

  9. I love that we have the evidence of our creator by the deposit of the Holy Spirit he has left inside of us when we said “I do” to Jesus.

  10. Amen, Rachel! Thank you for stepping out and sharing through photos and resources the depth to which God goes to be part of our everything-the beauty in the world, the wonder of nature, and the words that are gifted to us in the Bible. I love your heart and willingness to tackle this for your readers. Hugs friend!
