Welcome to the March 2018 Bible reading plan week 1 summary! What a blessing the Everything Beautiful Bible reading plan has been so far this month! The Scriptures are providing important reminders of keeping an eye open for God’s beautiful gifts every day of the week. I’m so grateful that the journal is providing an accountability that I wouldn’t have otherwise. Ready to review the past week of reading? Let’s do it!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-11

It can be difficult to see beauty in a world full of devastation. There are deep places in my heart that question discovering anything beautiful in disease. As I watch my daughter slowly deteriorate, finding beauty in suffering is more than challenging. But his promise? That he makes everything beautiful in its time. Not in our time. The perfect time. So the key to seeing beauty?

It can be difficult to see beauty in a world full of devastation. There are deep places in my heart that question discovering anything beautiful in disease. As I watch my daughter slowly deteriorate, finding beauty in suffering is more than challenging. But his promise? That he makes everything beautiful in its time. Not in our time. The perfect time. So the key to seeing beauty? Examining the season. Looking for beauty in the spaces where God reveals to you that oh yes, he is working. New life is being cultivated and while everything seems so very ugly, he always makes beauty from ashes. The sprouts must come before the fruit. Are we looking for the fruit? Or gazing on the wonder of new growth? Today is day 1 of savoring God’s seasonal elegance, the #everythingbeautifuljournal#biblereadingplan . Let’s ask the Lord to open our eyes to his work and the perfect beauty he is crafting right where we are. May we begin to focus on it today!

Psalm 16:1-11

You’ve heard the saying, “It’s my lot in life”? The plan for your life is beautiful and perfectly orchestrated by the God who loves you more than you can know. It is your lot in life to be loved by the almighty Creator. Your loving Father has already made provisions for you in every facet of your life. His grace and mercy are your inheritance! His plan for you is beyond beautiful!

I’m asking myself this morning: What do I need to surrender anew? 💐”The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.” Happy Friday! #everythingbeautifuljournal#biblereadingplan

Isaiah 40:1-8

While I’m anticipating spring, today’s #everythingbeautifuljournal#biblereadingplan reminds me that lasting beauty is found in God’s Word. When I open it, my heart is met right where I am; His Word speaks into the moment. And it is beautiful. Isaiah 52:1-7

True beauty isn’t a perfect pedicure or pretty shoes (though I enjoy both!) Intentional steps to love others and share the gospel makes far more than a fashion statement; it makes an impact! Who needs your peace-offering, truth-speaking, God-honoring beautiful self to show up today? 🙌 Hope your Monday’s marvelous! #everythingbeautifuljournal#biblereadingplan

Psalm 19:1-6

When things are so ugly and you need the reassurance that God makes all things beautiful in its time? You can take a peek at the sky and hear the sun and clouds or moon and stars singing in praise. The whole earth is full of his glory! Maybe your Wednesday would be transformed if you stopped looking down or around and took a moment to truly look up? Make it a great day! #everythingbeautifuljournal#biblereadingplan

Psalm 111:1-10

His Word has been preserved for generations- a work to be remembered. 7 days of creation. The rainbow and its promise. The Red Sea Crossing. Work after work of beauty and this great God? He’s crafting something beautiful, unique, wondrous and memorable in YOU! Have a thriving Thursday knowing that your gracious, merciful God longs to show off the beauty he is instilling in your heart! #everythingbeautifuljournal#biblereadingplan

Hosea 14:1-9

Sometimes we wonder why success isn’t coming our way. We try and try. Push all our effort into the next great idea or skill or social media platform. We exercise more and push harder. But in all this, our efforts will be fruitless if we don’t abide in the Vine. “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” Have a fabulous Friday embracing the beauty of today! #everythingbeeautifuljournal#biblereadingplan

That is a wrap for this first week of the March Bible reading challenge! I’m praying as each day passes and we complete the reading and journaling, that God will reveal the beauty of each season to each of us.

By his grace,

Rachel

PS: If you missed the devotional I wrote for Girlfriends in God this week, then you’ll want to read it for sure! Especially if you’ve lost a loved one to cancer. You’ll find comfort in Permission to Ache Freely.
