Welcome to the May 2019 Bible reading plan and journal challenge! If this is your first time here, then I’m so glad to have you!

Could I ask you to slow down for just a minute as you read this post?
God has called me to host the monthly Bible reading challenge and I’ve done so for almost a decade in obedience to Him.

Since my Taylor girl graduated to heaven on January 2 this year, I have been working through grief and yet I’m more focused on God’s Word than I’ve ever been. While I’ve spent less time on social media and miss connecting with so many of you, God has graciously been sustaining me in sorrow and ushering in joy in the midst of pain.

In April, we worked on the Pure Joy Bible reading challenge to cultivate a happy heart. The Scripture reminders have been so good for me each and every day. For the month of May, I believe the Lord is leading us to work through understanding God’s plan is much larger than we can comprehend. May’s Bible reading challenge is Magnificent Power: Recognizing God is Bigger than Anything.

INTRODUCTION

Each month I host a monthly Bible reading plan and journal challenge to help our community enjoy reading God’s Word together and encourage our hearts to be faithful to Him.  Together, we have completed over 35 Bible reading plans, including annual reading challenges and monthly reading challenges. I’ve developed all sorts of strategies to help us continue to stay in God’s word faithfully and there is nothing like this monthly system we are doing together.

ORDER YOUR JOURNAL

Many readers have requested that I list the journal at the beginning of this monthly announcement post because you already know you want it and don’t need the details. So here you are! This month’s journal is Magnificent Power: Recognizing God is Bigger than Anything.

May 2019 Bible Reading Challenge

Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand, it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name. 1 Chronicles 29:10-13

In the Scripture before the passage above, David announced that Solomon would now be king and the work of building a temple for the Lord would be under his direction. He tells the people that he has made financial provisions for the building, but he asks the people of Israel to consecrate their hearts to this project and give whatever they can. After collecting all the offerings, the people rejoiced and David prayed this prayer.

David knew that no matter the budget, God is the One who would provide all power and strength for the task ahead.

GOD IS BIGGER THAN…

Go ahead. Fill in the blank with whatever it is for you. I don’t know what you need to remember God is bigger than, but whatever it is, this monthly list of passages will encourage your heart! I’m sure of it!
