Nehemiah 9:13-21

Even after… The story of Israel in the Old Testament is summed up in the#gentlyGodguides #biblereading today. The list of all their mess ups, mistakes, and wrong choices is laid out. But then we get to the words “Even after…” Because God did not abandon them in the wilderness. No, because of his great compassion, he gave them the pillar of cloud to guide them by day and a pillar of fire by night. He sent his good spirit to instruct them. Our God has not changed, friends. We have our “even after” lists and yet he continues to guide us. The Spirit lives within our hearts to instruct us. What a good God we serve!

Psalm 143:1-12

Reveal to me the way I should go because I long for you..Psalm 143:1-12 today and I can’t describe to you how passionately I’m lifting up this prayer as mine for the week. #onemorestep#gentlyGodguides #biblereading#biblejournaling #journalingbible

2 Peter 1:1-8

This passage is incredibly powerful and packed full of God’s guidance. I focused on verse 3:

His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.

He gives us the strength we need to take another step!

1 Corinthians 2:9-12

A glorious reminder that we have the Spirit of God to teach us the way. When I start reading my Bible and I find myself feeling like I don’t understand, inviting the Spirit to show me and help me understand, is the answer. You’d think I would remember by now to begin with my quiet time by extending an invitation to him. But, I’m human and sometimes forget.

1 Corinthians 2:13-16

In the current information age, I love Paul’s reference back to the Old Testament in this passage. We can Google to the moon and back but we won’t find this answer:

who has known the Lord’s mind, that he may instruct him?

Would I really want a god that I could boss around? Absolutely not. But the next verse gives us the secret to living in victory:

But we have the mind of Christ.

Embrace that verse today! We have the power in us to make wise decisions, to live life to the full! But we must choose the right way. God did not create human beings as robots. Choosing to let God guide is a daily, even moment-by-moment decision.

John 8:26-32

If you continue in my Word... That's a beautiful way that he guides us- through his word. That's why we've got to stay close to it- abiding in it. Need guidance? Get in the Word of God and let him lead. #onemorestep #gentlyGodGuides #biblereading #biblejournaling

Psalm 23:1-6

I memorized Psalm 23 as a child, but today the wording in my Holman Christian Standard Journaling Bible spoke loudly over me. Even through the darkest valley!! The valley of depression. The valley of disease. The valley of death. You may be walking the valley today. But you are not alone.
