Cold Feet, Worried Heart

An old hymn has been ruminating through my head this morning….

Where He leads me, I will follow,

Where He leads me, I will follow,

Where He leads me, I will follow…

I’ll go with Him, with Him, all the way.

Did you ever ask God for something and He gave it to you?  I mean, you were sincerely saying, “Lord, if this is your will, I’ll do it.  Just show me how.”…

And then He shows you exactly how, but like some on the day of their long-awaited, much-anticipated wedding, you…

have cold feet.

You doubt and fret and worry. And work yourself up into an eye twitch and lovely pit in your stomach?

And you tell God (in your own terms, of course, this is just what I might think before repenting….):

Walmart has a better refund and exchange policy than you.

I’m guessing you might have been there, done that.

The same God who brought you this far…is going to go before you.

Psalm 23:3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

The same God who answered yes, even though you didn’t expect a “yes”…is with you.

Matt. 28: 20 “be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The same God who loves you beyond measure…has gone ahead of you, to prepare the way for you

and will cover your back side cause He knows you need it.

Isaiah 52:12 for the LORD will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

Pick two verses and call me in the morning.

  1. Great post, Rachel.
I find that if I’m about to make a wrong decision, I will not be at peace. God has a way of keeping us in His perfect peace if we keep our eyes on Him.

    Thanks for this reminder.

  2. Great post and advice Rachel. God always does above and beyond what we can ask or think, Amen? His Word has just what we need for the “how” – but it’s our “go” that needs adjusting… 🙂

  3. love it 🙂 im Alexya by the way… i would have cold feet if i was about to marry…because…what if i married the wrong guy?

    1. Thanks for stopping by! Great question. And a quick answer: if you are in tune with your Father through prayer and the Word, then you won’t marry the wrong guy! 🙂

  4. Love the “pick two and call me in the morning” part… I just might do that… Lord willing.
