With the celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday coming up this month, choosing to focus on giving thanks for this month’s Bible reading challenge is no great surprise. However, I plan to soak up these verses, taking time to meditate on the verses throughout the day and reflect on their meaning. Check out the daily readings from the With Thanksgiving Bible reading summary week 1!
1 Chronicles 16:1-8
Did you read today’s#withthanksgiving passage? I love that David believed thanksgiving and praise to the Lord was so very important that he appointed them as special duties to the Levites! If your position was issued in the “praise and thanks” department, would your history predict a bright future? Whatcha got to thank God for today? I’m thankful for a day to mostly be at home taking care of housework and ministry work. I’m thankful for the love of Jesus and his grace and mercy! #biblereading
Psalm 7:10-17
Thanksgiving is simple and straightforward. Giving thanks. I ran into two health insurance issues this week and found myself fussing inside. When I caught myself and started to look for what I could be thankful for instead, my outlook for the day changed. Yes, I still had problems to deal with. But God is walking through them with me. His presence is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. As@sheilawalsh1 says “Lord, I don’t know where you are going today, but I’m coming with you.” #withthanksgiving #biblereading
Philippians 4:1-7
With thanksgiving. I have to admit that I sometimes take my requests to God without thanking him. Meditating on this verse today. #withthanksgiving#biblereading
Psalm 9:1-9
Recount his wonderful deeds. I’ve found that when I do this, when I remember and focus on all God has done for me, then I am whole-hearted for him.#withthanksgiving #biblereading
We’ve only just begun this challenge; you’re welcome to join in any time! You’ll find the plan in the schedule listed in the resources below.
