Yesterday I snapped a photo of the first crocus in our family's yard this year. Today we woke up to snowdust on the ground. I suppose if there is one thing that never changes, it's that things are always changing. I personally believe that transitions are often perceived as disruptions and it seems that transitions can ruin easily ruin my peace perspective. Maybe you too? Let's check out the summary for the first week of Perfect Peace.

Last Friday we were only two days in to the Perfect Peace Bible Reading Challenge, so I waited until this week to post. Let’s check out the summary for the first week of Perfect Peace. Ready?

Psalm 29:1-11

Peace, peace, wonderful peace. Coming down from the Father above. Sweep over my spirit, forever I pray, in fathomless billows of love. I'm going to have to have my hubby sing that old hymn for me tonight. Oh how the voice of the Lord- his strength- provides peace within. Hope your Wednesday is going wonderfully! #perfectpeacejournal#biblereadingplan

Yesterday was International Rare Disease Day and I didn’t post. Honestly I was thinking about how different it is for folks who have no connection to rare disease just to pause and think about it for one day. It’s hard for me to ask someone to give just a thought for one day out of the year when my girl is living out rare disease every single day and has been for her entire life. It doesn’t seem possible that one could fathom what her life is like and so why ask you to consider it? But I believe we can all learn from Taylor regardless. I believe the power, purpose, and plan of God is always unified. So Rare Disease Day or not, you’d better believe we do our best to walk God’s way. Even when it includes the doctor’s words we heard 3 weeks ago: ” I believe the time has come for a feeding tube. Medically, she is proving to be in need.” This mama didn’t think it was time yet though. So I pressed in hard to the #truelovejournal and embraced the Father’s affection. “Lord, show me what to do. I need you so desperately to help me think.” In spite of working on Taylor’s diet for months prior to this, in spite of gathering nutritionist’s best recommendations, she had been steadily, gradually losing weight. It seemed we would get one symptom resolved, only to deal with another. However, I weighed my sweet girl today. Because I could see a difference. Feel a difference. And she weighs 3 more pounds than she did 3 weeks ago when the dr recommended the tube!! God was faithful to give me a few ideas that we hadn’t tried and yes, praise the Lord, they worked! I’ve never met someone who has a drive for life like my Taylor. From the moment she was born, life has been one battle after another. Although disease has stolen our girl’s words, there is one partial Bible verse she was able to memorize as a 4 yr old in Sunday School. “The battle is the Lord’s.” So the next time you’re hit with circumstances you never dreamed would be yours, remember whose child you are and Who already owns the battle. You’ll find yourself prepared to take One More Step when you feel like giving up. The battle is the Lord’s. #onemorestep#onemorestepbook

Proverbs 16:1-7

What could happen today if we simply lifted up every item on our to-do list and said "Lord, this is yours. May it be pleasing to you?" Peace in my heart has nothing to do with the actions of others and everything to do with how I choose to act. #biblereadingplan #perfectpeacejournal#biblereading #layitalldown

Job 5:17-27

In today's #perfectpeacejournal#biblereading passage, Job's "friend" is reminding him of how God works. And while he may have been a little off on his intentions of encouraging Job, there is a lot that he gets right in spite of it. I'm guessing he spoke from experience. Where have you experienced God's peace in the past and how will that fuel a peaceful spirit within you on this Monday? #biblereadingplan

Psalm 120:1-7

Have you ever thought about hanging with the peacemakers? The friends we choose are the friends we choose to influence us. I've never been one to enjoy conflict and Psalm 120 encourages wise influences in the peace department. I also couldn't help but think as I read today's #perfectpeacejournal #biblereadingplan that a prayerful life yields a peaceful life. Have a terrific Tuesday knowing Jesus is our Perfect Peace and he is always with us! #biblereading

Ecclesiastes 3:8-22

I was struck this morning by the opposites in our #perfectpeacejournal#biblereadingplan . There IS a time to hate and a time to war. I've been so focused on peace that I haven't given the opposite too much thought this month! God, grant us the wisdom to know your perfect timing and how to respond to your will. Amen? Have a wonderful Wednesday! #biblereading Psalm 85:1-13

Psalm 85:1-13

Righteousness and peace kiss each other. When my heart is right with the Lord, peace is the result. What a beautiful thought that simply doing right yields peace! Lord Jesus, in a world where moral values become more blurred each day, may we rely on your word fully and live accordingly. Thank you for your peace! Amen. Have a thriving Thursday! #perfectpeacejournal #biblereadingplan#biblereading
