Welcome to the One More Step Bible Reading Challenge Summary Week 3! Wow, each week seems to speed by faster than the last. Are you enjoying this challenge? I’ve received many emails from you indicating that you are! I love that. What did you learn this week? Or was it that the Lord reminded you of a lesson you tend to keep needing to learn? Let’s check out all the good stuff from this week.
Periscope
Thank you SO much for the opportunity to Periscope with you about the Bible reading and One More Step. I enjoyed the scope so much this week!! If you didn’t get to watch it, you can view it here. (And although I thought it would be posted for 24 hours only, I forgot that I set up a site to “katch” the video automatically. So it is preserved. YAY!) Next week I’m scoping on Tuesday instead of Thursday, 9 pm EST since it is Thanksgiving week! Won’t you join in?
Psalm 61:1-8
Verse 2 was my meditation verse from this chapter:
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
The week has unfolded strangely. My personal church community and MPS family community has suffered losses this week and I am overwhelmed for those hurting hearts. Lead me to the rock.
Psalm 59:1-9
The #onemorestep#biblereading plan this day? Psalm 59:1-9: 1Rescue me from my enemies, O God.
Protect me from those who have come to destroy me.
2Rescue me from these criminals;
save me from these murderers.
3They have set an ambush for me.
Fierce enemies are out there waiting, LORD,
though I have not sinned or offended them.
4I have done nothing wrong,
yet they prepare to attack me.
Wake up! See what is happening and help me!
5O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel,
wake up and punish those hostile nations.
Show no mercy to wicked traitors.
Interlude
6They come out at night,
snarling like vicious dogs
as they prowl the streets.
7Listen to the filth that comes from their mouths;
their words cut like swords.
“After all, who can hear us?” they sneer.
8But LORD, you laugh at them.
You scoff at all the hostile nations.
9You are my strength; I wait for you to rescue me. #prayforParis
Psalm 59:10-17
I was a little stressed when I did this and went overboard with the doodling. But I will joyfully proclaim his strength!! Psalm 59:10-17 for today’s #onemorestep#biblereading challenge . #biblejournaling#drawingcloser
Psalm 136:1-5
What wonder does he have in store for you today- the one whose love endures forever? Psalm 136:1-5 for the#onemorestep #biblereading challenge
Psalm 136:6-12
He made the great lights. His love endures forever. The sun to rule the day. His love endures forever. The moon and the stars to rule by night. His love endures forever. Whenever you doubt God’s love for you, look up. His symbols of love dress the sky by day and night. The God who made the great lights longs to shine in and through you. #onemorestep#biblereading #biblejournaling#drawingcloser Psalm 136:6-12v
Psalm 136:13-18
“No record exists of the Red Sea being parted prior to the children of Israel walking on dry land that miraculous day. No, only one time did God work a miracle in this manner. I wonder what it was like to be the first person to step on the dry sea bed, especially as the wall of water stood beside them. When there’s nothing left to work with from a human perspective, God says, ” No problem. I made humans from dust. In fact, I spoke the world into existence. I’ve got everything under control.” – One More Step . Psalm 136:13-18 for the #onemorestep #biblereading His love endures forever. #biblejournaling#drawingcloser
Psalm 136:19-26
His love endures forever and it is the only thing we can hold on to in questionable times. Psalm 136:19-26
May your weekend be filled with beauty and grace.

THE BOOK : One More Step: Finding Strength When You Feel Like Giving Up
Hi Rachel, Hi Eliza. Sorry am posting late. Had an issue with my email account. Am a bit overwhelmed with the love of God in this weeks reading and I want to say we always underestimate who God is. He promises and we don’t belive him. As I read over psalm 36 I felt good and released my worries trusting this great God who created the universe, knowing he loves me more than I love myself .
Many blessings Racheal.
This week has certainly just flown by! I have been enjoying delving into my Bible, both via this bible study, and finding verses/chapters to read from other sources.
The verses that really spoke to me this week are:
Day 13:
Psalm 61:2
Day 14:
Psalm 59:9
Day 15
Psalm 59:16
Day 16-19
Psalm 136:1
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
That really spoke to me, especially ‘give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!’ I have found myself repeating this verse to myself throughout the last few days, with a particular emphasis on ‘good’.
I have found myself really intentionally finding things to be thankful about, and offering thanks up to God, and it has completely changed my days! I really do feel like I am joyful, even on the tough days, I don’t think I could have stopped smiling, even if I wanted to! God is good!
Psalm 136:4
Day 20
Psalm 27:3
Psalm 27:4 ‘…that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life…’
Thanks again to Rachel for giving me the opportunity to participate in this bible study, I am learning something and getting encouragement every day!
Eliza
Eliza- I love that you take the time to post each week what you are learning! Thank you for sharing with us!
