What an incredible week of reading this has been! Thanks for joining me in this month’s Bible reading challenge! I’m going to share what I learned during this No Fear Bible Reading Challenge Week 2 Summary and I’d love for you to do the same in the comments at the end. Let’s go…

1 Chronicles 28:11-20

Imagine David's strategy for the temple- building. It was a lifelong dream that he would create this beautiful place of dwelling for God. And in our#nofear #biblereading today, David passes the torch of this project to Solomon. The focus verses are his encouragement to his son: . "Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished." In other words, just do it. #nofear

Hebrews 13:1-8

I love when the New Testament writers repeat the Old Testament writers. That is exactly what happens in our #nofear#biblereading passage today. Amidst a chapter of small phrases of instruction, the author reminds us that there is no reason to be afraid. He's by your side today! What will you do with #nofear

Psalm 112:1-10

Many times our greatest fear is "what if?" Trusting means leaving the "what if?'s" in God's hands. #nofear #biblereading

Zephaniah 3:14-20

Fear not. The One who saves is with you. The One who created your hands promises to steady them if only you will allow him. The One who provides eternal salvation will also provide everyday solutions! #nofear #biblereading

2 Chronicles 20:14-21

It's not your battle to begin with. Fear has no place in your heart because no matter the battle, it's God's.#nofear #biblereading

Psalm 27:1-8

A stronghold carries at least two definitions. It is a well-fortified place; a fortress. A place that will sustain in times of need. But the second definition of stronghold grabbed my attention this morning. A stronghold is a place that serves as the center. Oh Jesus, may you be the center of our hearts today for we know that if we center on you, everything we say and do will be grounded, with absolutely no need to fear. #nofear #biblereading

No Fear Bible Reading Challenge Week 1 Summary

  1. Rebecca Bashore says:

2 Chronicles Chapt. 20 – Just a little something gleaned from my reading this days selection – Give thanks before the battle ever begins…
vs 17 – Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you…. and Jehoshaphat bowed and worshiped God then… before the battle ever began…

  2. Thank you so much for this reading plan Rachel! I have had a rather stressful and worrisome situation over the last couple of weeks, and this reading plan of His Word (and a lot of prayer!) has helped to calm me, and in the end, my prayers were answered and He showed me the way through. Last night was the first night I slept properly in about a fortnight!
As a control freak with trust issues, it can be hard for me to ‘let go’, but my new mantra is ‘God’s got this!’

This week I really liked reading 2 Chronicles 20:15, 17 & 30 (I read on to the end of the chapter)

“Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

“You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you!”

“Then the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.”

In the midst of my stressful time this week, it was so comforting to read that I didn’t need to be afraid, that I didn’t need to fight this battle, and it was especially comforting to know that once this little ‘episode’ was over, that there would be rest all around.

Thank you for sharing this reading plan with us Rachel, it really helped me find exactly what I needed. God really has got this!

Blessings to you and your family!

  3. Rachel,
Very encouraging. Thank you. I really enjoy looking in my email box each day and finding your devotional. A highlight in the mornings. God bless you today.
