Have you ever wondered how God can know everything at once? When my mind is on overload, then the thoughts certainly crosses my mind. How is he capable of being omniscient, the all-knowing God? And then I further ponder the names of God and marvel at who God is. I did that when I read the passages of the Names of God Bible reading plan this very week. Let’s check out the Names of God Bible reading summary week 3!
John 8:49-59 I AM
The religious leaders of the day didn’t believe Jesus. As he stood before them declaring his Oneness with God, God in the flesh, they didn’t recognize him for who he was. Even worse, they didn’t recognize him for who he is. Oh, it’s easy to point fingers at those blind, esteemed teachers of that day. Until the next time we put God in a box and fail to recognize that he always has been, he is ever-present, working in our situations, and he ever will be shaping the worst into the best. Because he is not I was. He is I AM! #namesofGod #biblereadingplan#biblereading Day 17
John 1:1-14 The Word
The Word became flesh. Jesus, the Word of God, the Son of God, came to live among us. What a reason to rejoice! #namesofGod #biblereadingplan#biblereading
John 10:34-42 The Son of God
Jesus told the people even if they didn’t believe in him, at least believe him for the works he performed. The work of God is visible to those who open their eyes to see it. What are you looking for today? #namesofGod #bibleteadingplan#biblereading Day 19
Titus 2:11-15 Savior
Jesus, our Savior. Come thou long expected Jesus, born to set thy people free. From our cares and sin release us, let us find our rest in thee. #namesofGod #biblereadingplan#biblereading Day 20
John 4:19-26 Messiah
She said “Come see a man who told me all I ever did.” The woman at the well felt this man must be the long-awaited Christ- the Messiah. And with the glimmer of hope that burned in her soul, she told everyone to go meet him. Meeting Jesus prompts a desire to share. Who will you share with this season? #namesofGod#biblereadingplan #biblereading Day 22 PS: The Lord keeps me humble! Yesterday I did today’s reading by accident. So this John passage is actually yesterday’s reading. ?
Revelation 5:6-14 The Lamb of God
Only One was worthy to sacrifice his life for us. He was born that we could live. He died that we could live. He rose from the grave that we could live. Worthy is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!!#namesofGod#biblereadingplan #biblereading
John 14:1-14 The Way, The Truth & The Life
Jesus begins the chapter by saying “Let not your heart be troubled.” The disciples were confused and said they didn’t know the way to where Jesus was going. But he further explained that he is the truth and the life. So much depth in one phrase! #namesofGod #biblereadingplan#biblereading Day 23
