Happy New Year! 2017 is here and I pray that you are off to a good start today. While today is the first day of the Pure Joy Bible Reading challenge for January, I wanted to take a moment and wrap up the Names of God study we finished in December. Check out the recap for last week and you’ll find the prior weeks in the resources section at the bottom of this post. Ready?
Isaiah 7:7-14 Immanuel: God With Us
“The Lord Himself shall give you a sign.” He became God with us because of his love for us. Wow, just think about that!! #namesofGod#biblereadingplan #biblereading
Isaiah 9:6&7 Prince of Peace
A child was born and so we celebrate the birth of Jesus, son of man and Son of God!! Merry Christmas!! #namesofgod #biblereading#biblereadingplan Day 25
John 10:1-10 The Door
Jesus, the Door. He stands at the door of our hearts knocking and yet all the while, He himself is the door, opening up to a new way of life. The abundant life. #namesofGod #biblereading#biblereadingplan
John 10:11-18 The Good Shepherd
He knows my name
He knows my every thought,
He sees each tear that falls
And hears me when I call … this is the Good Shepherd. #namesofGod#biblereadingplan #biblereading Day 27
John 15:1-9 The Vine
Abide in his love and you will have joy! Today’s #namesofGod#biblereadingplan is just beautiful and worthy of reflection and praise! #biblereading Day 28
John 6:28-40 The Bread of Life
He offers sustenance like no one else can. Jesus, the Bread of Life. The One who will feed your soul and hydrate your heart. The One who strengthens your spirit and supplies all your needs. The One who fills your hunger and fuels your desires. #biblereadingplan #biblereading#namesofGod Day 28
John 8:1-12 The Light of the World
It’s interesting to me that Jesus began to speak about being the Light of the world just after the story of the adulterous woman who was condemned by the Pharisees. “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone,” Jesus said to the accusers. And the men with pointing fingers tucked them away and walked away one by one. Light brings conviction. Light splits darkness. Light provides life. #namesofGod #biblereadingplan#biblereading Day 30
1 Peter 2:1-10 The Chief Cornerstone
Today’s passage for the final #namesofGod #biblereadingplan seems perfect to end the month and year. I’ve been thinking this morning on the basis for everything I do- Jesus, the Chief Cornerstone. And if we build on this foundation, we can rest securely!! #biblereading
So there is our Names of God Bible Reading Challenge final summary. Check out the list below to find our walk through the month! If you haven’t already joined in for the Pure Joy Bible Reading Plan for January, you are welcome to join in at anytime!
