The holidays created a little lull in my writing time, but I don’t want to miss this last review for the month of December. So while we’ve already begun the January Bible reading challenge, don’t miss this last review of the Light Bible reading plan. Matthew 4:10-17
Finally the darkness of not understanding, the darkness of confusion was cut wide open by Jesus’ words. In today’s #biblereadingplan passage, we find Jesus leaving his hometown of Nazareth to begin his teaching and preaching ministry. And his first sermon? Repent. Change your ways. The only way to the light, to seeing light, to knowing the Light of the world is to turn our eyes away from the darkness. To make the choice to experience his great light saturating into our souls!! What a beautiful dawning!! #thelightjournal #goodmorninggirls#hellomornings #biblereading
Jeremiah 31:33-37
So as I think about the most well-known star, the one resting over the Messiah, I have to wonder at the greatness of our God. Today’s #thelightjournal #biblereadingplanexplains the entire reason God came to be with us. The baby was born in the manger to restore our relationship with God. “And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord.” (V. 33) Your Father pursues you with a relentless love and his light always shines the way. Enjoy his presence this Sunday! #biblereading
Daniel 2:19-23
When wisdom is needed, his light shines the way. He’s done it for me and he’ll do it for you. I love how the Lord gave Daniel exactly what he needed in this passage!
Matthew 5:11-16
Giving glory to the Father this morning for the birth of his son and the hope for the future! May our lights shine for him today! #thelightjournal #biblereadingplan#biblereading #hellomornings#goodmorninggirls
Matthew 6:19-24
A great question for the new year: What are we choosing to see? Or maybe it should be: Where are we choosing to focus? Jesus, let us fix our eyes on your light today. #thelightjournal #biblereadingplan#biblereading #bibleverses Day 27
Luke 8:11-18
We are beginning a new year and for many, this week is a time of reflection. Today I’m meditating on this verse. Lord, would you bring to light those things we have tried to keep from you? May we humbly confess and boldly profess that your way, your light, is brightest and best. Have a thriving Thursday! #biblereadingplan #biblereading
Psalm 43:1-5
When you are in your darkest hour, his light still shines the way. When the blessings are shaped like burdens and you’re not sure how to view them, let them lead you to the holy hill of your God. His presence brings exceeding joy and you’ll discover the light anew. What rich promises from #thelightjournal #biblereadingplan this morning! Happy Friday! Day 29
I John 2:7-11
Love God. Love one another. The two commandments Jesus gave wrapped up all other commandments. Seems simple, but oh how our flesh fights for our own way! There was no exception for ethnic or cultural differences. No exception for those with different political views. No exception for those who think opposite on certain points. You cannot be in the light, following the Light of the world, and exude hate. Jesus, flood our hearts with your light afresh, so that any shred of darkness would flee. May your love be all that flows from us on this Saturday. Amen. #thelightjournal#biblereadingplan #biblereading#hellomornings #goodmorninggirls
Psalm 18:28-33
Darkness can seem overpowering. Circumstances can feel overwhelming. But what a wonderful reminder passage to close out December and our monthly Bible reading challenge! There is no dark too dark for the Light of the world. Whether you’re facing a personal darkness or feeling the world’s darkness, our God is bigger and brighter! He always shines the way. Let’s focus on Him in 2018!! #thelightjournal #biblereadingplan#biblereading
By his grace,
Rachel
