bible reading challenge day 36

Have you ever tried to comprehend just how much God wants a daily personal relationship with the human race?

God loves us so much that we could spend our entire lives trying to comprehend just how wide and deep the Father’s love is for us and yet, we are incapable of fathoming God’s love in its totality. I was thinking about that for a little while today as over the last month, I’ve seen His blessing pour out over and over again for obedience to Him. The responsibilities I needed to tackle today seemed overpowering as I started the day this morning. But Proverbs 16:3 came to mind and I set it on replay:

Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.

At the end of the day, for a moment, I thought, “Wow, I can’t believe all that I accomplished today!”  But a split second later, my heart said:

At the end of the day, I don’t want life to be about what I accomplished today. I want life to be about what God accomplished in me.

Enter the I Love You to God and Back book review and giveaway. My two youngest  took turns snuggling with Mommy tonight to read through this sweet book.  With colorful illustrations and precious wording, the book encourages little ones to communicate with God on a daily, personal level.  The book models the ACTS method of prayer: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication; and my three year old listened intently tonight.

I just love the way the book teaches children to praise God for all He has given and does in their lives! A lesson I’m still learning as an adult- how about you?

This book is designed with ages 4 to 7 in mind, but I think this could easily expand to ages 3 to 8 for teaching prayer and personal time with God. If you have a snuggler, like my just-under-2 year old, then he or she might love it also.

I hope you’ve been inspired to praise God today. Even when it’s not easy.

And I’d love for you to enter the giveaway- just follow the Rafflecopter instructions.

One more thing: My awesome friends at Tommy Nelson have given my fab readers a promotion on this beautiful book! To save 30% using the code: LOVE, from now through 2/16, click here or the link above.

  4. I teach them to praise God by modeling it every chance I can in our own life. When we wake up in the morning, we thank Him, we thank Him for our food, our good health, any close calls we have during the day, and even for any special things that we notice or experience in our day to day life!

  5. Let them learn from other modeling it for them. Talk with them about how great God is, His Word. Let them share their thoughts and prayers.

  6. Gloria Phillips says:

Trying to teach my boys by example. Giving God praise has been a big focus of mine recently. Trying to praise Him n everything we o. It seems for the longest time we just went through our days not even thinking about it. Trying to make it a top priority!

  7. Melinda T says:

We pray, sing songs, read and talk about the Bible as well as thanking God for our blessings.

  9. We praise him daily throught out. At meals, in the car, and at bed time. It’s important to imbed that feeling of thanksgiving throughout the day practicing and making it a natural part of the day.

  10. Prayer and giving thanks at the end of each day before bed. This book would be a welcome addition to our daily praise of God’s gifts to us.

I am a nanny, working for an unsaved family, but I am trying to teach the boys to praise God by being thankful even when things don’t go the way they want. I have tried to teach them songs about God also, but it’s a work in progress. 🙂

  16. My daughter is a copy catter so I’ve discovered the best way to teach her to praise God is to make sure she see’s me praise Him myself!

  17. When we can’t make it to church on Sunday, we always try to have “home church” + I LOVE pulling out the guitar while Nate pulls out some hand percussion + we sing with Auggie. He provides interpretive dance + I love the fact that worship is being built into the core of how he lives. This week, he’s started requesting “Poof” which is “Proof of Your Love” by For King + Country…

  18. I loved the Acts method as a kid and still use it as an adult. Sometimes we forget to praise God and just get to our needs.

  19. I go around the house continually singing. Most of the time I don’t even realize it until the little ones are singing songs that we adults sang at church service, while they are in Sunday school. It stops me in my tracks every time. How does my 4 year old know that song? We just learned that last week! Mommy has been singing it non stop for 5 days! ;0) They learn how to praise God by watching their Momma praise him all day long. Hearing them singing makes my heart sing.

  20. By verbally praising Him myself.

  21. I am very happy to find out about this book. My youngest will love it!

  22. I love that you said they use the ACTS method of prayer! My son will be 3 this year and sounds like he could get into it.
