We’ve completed another month of Bible reading! Can you believe it? I think the Confident Trust: believing God’s plan is best is one of my favorites. Let’s review the last week and few days of Scripture for the Confident Trust Bible reading week 4 summary. You with me?
Psalm 78:1-11
Trusting the Lord is easier for us when we reflect on all he has done and not what we want to be changed. And then? Sharing all his works grows our trust and confidence in him as well. Who will you share a special blessing in your life with today? Make it a super Saturday! #confidenttrustjournal #biblereadingplan #biblereading
Psalm 78:12-29
It’s #worldbookday and I’m excited to share the one book I do my best to read every day- the Bible! In today’s #confidenttrustjournal #biblereadingplan , the Psalm lyrics describe the journey of he children of Israel. Verse 16 of Psalm 78 says, “He made streams come out of the rock
and caused waters to flow down like rivers.” God took care of his people through every twist and turn of their journey. When they chose not to trust him, he challenged them, but he loved them beyond their ability to understand. He still loves us today in the same way. So thankful. Hope you’re having a super Sunday!
Psalm 78:30-42
If we read this verse alone, it sounds like such a great victory, doesn’t it? Finally the children of Israel were learning to trust God, right? But the very next verse explains that wasn’t the case. “But they flattered him with their mouths;they lied to him with their tongues.Their heart was not steadfast toward him;they were not faithful to his covenant.” It’s easy to point fingers at the children of Israel in today’s #confidenttrustjournal #biblereadingplan , except that if you think about it, we do the very same thing. We tell God we’re trusting him for eternal salvation (the Promised Land) but we fail to trust him for everyday solutions (walking through the wilderness.) On this Monday of a new week, i believe the Lord is emphasizing to my heart. Trust AND obey. (You can bet I’ll be singing the old hymn while I work this morning.) Have a marvelous Monday knowing that the most high God, your redeemer, longs to have your full trust and obedience, in order to bring you through the wilderness to your promised land! Day 24 Psalm 78:30-42
Ever give God a few suggestions? Oh, you know, just a few hints at solutions you have for issues at hand? That’s pride and I’m learning to call it for what it is in my own life. Thankful for his plans to give me a hope and a future. #confidenttrustjournal#biblereadingplan #biblereading
Psalm 78:43-55
All through Psalm 78, the lyrics reveal what God was doing and did for his people. He sent. He gave. He destroyed. He gave. He let loose. He made. He did. He struck. He led. He guided. He led. He brought. He drove out. He apportioned. He settled. Your God is a God of action. If you think for one moment that he is not working while you are walking through the wildness, then you haven’t examined the God of the Bible. Your God, our God, is so very worthy of our trust and he is ALWAYS working in and through your wait. Move over, Tuesday, trust is here. ? #confidenttrustjournal #biblereadingplan #biblereading
Psalm 78:56-72
Last week I listened to Christine Caine’s sermon “Highly Unlikely.” So when I read this morning’s #confidenttrustjournal #biblereadingplan , Psalm 78:56-72, I thought of God’s “highly unlikely” choice of David, the shepherd boy. From the nation of Israel walking through the wilderness, struggling to trust God, all the way to the most unlikely leadership choice, David, the kid who walked around with the sheep, God brought his people. Psalm 78 is titled “Tell the Coming Generation.” I wish I could hear the melody of this beautiful song that reminds us of God’s faithfulness and trustworthiness. Have a wonderful Wednesday reflecting on the God who can be trusted to see all details through. Every last one. #biblereading
Psalm 115:1-9
When life happens today, and the temptation to ask God “Why?” arises, remember this. The God who rules the heavens longs to reign in our hearts. There is nothing that he cannot redeem! Have a thriving Thursday knowing that your God, rules, reigns, and redeems! He is so worthy of our trust. #confidenttrustjournal #biblereadingplan #biblereading
Psalm 115:10-18
“Do you respect and love the Lord as the sovereign Almighty God of the universe? Then trust him as such. ” Those are the thoughts that flowed through me this morning as I was reading. Many details to work through today and I’m so very thankful to serve the God of details. God is interested in and orchestrating each one! Happy Friday! #confidenttrustjournal #biblereadingplan #biblereading
Romans 15:1-13
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. V. 5 (#biblereadingplan Day 29 Romans 15:1-13) #biblereading
Isaiah 43:1-12
Grateful for a month of reading Scripture to remind me that God is worthy of my trust, no matter the circumstances!! I pray that the #confidenttrustjournal and #biblereadingplan has blessed and strengthened your life and walk with Christ in rich ways. We begin #neveralonejournal tomorrow! Have a spirit-filled Sunday! #biblereading
You may have noticed Day 31, Colossians 3:12-17, at the end of the journal. For 2017, I have chosen to create every Bible reading plan and journal so that it can be used for any month of the year. I pray this has been a blessing in your life this month as we’ve walked this simple but important road together! Our God is so worthy of our trust.
By his grace,
Rachel
