A Grateful Heart

This week for Women of Faith, our devotional by Luci Swindoll encouraged a grateful heart. She discusses how we all have our “list” of things to grumble about and yep, I can totally relate! Those issues that hang us up and cause us to get a good case of “the gripes.”
But the truth is, I AM thankful. Like Luci, I have to give myself reminders of just what I am thankful for.
I often quote I Thess. 5:18, “In every thing give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Be thankful for being put on hold for 15 minutes? Yes, time.
Be thankful for waiting in line for a car registration on the last day of the month? Yes, that I have a car.
And the list goes on.
So when Women of Faith asks:
What are you grateful for?
Then I humbly answer:
- God’s Promises.
- Parents who gave it their all.
- The health of my children.
- A husband who is the most loving, devoted father and man a girl could ask for.
- Bonus: he changes diapers!
Can I get an Amen?!
