Whenever I announce this at my house, excited kids gather around to see what kind of book treasures came in the mail for us. This particular book we’re reviewing today caused no small stir for my 9 yr. old girlie girl. The beautiful “Shine Your Light Devotional” by Sheila Walsh is a wonderful addition to a daily spiritual routine for any sweet young girl.
This devotional contains 55 devotions with four aspects to drive home the sparkling concepts of the book. Full of Bible verses, prayers, memory verses, and creative activities, the “Shine Your Light” devotional teaches girls how to begin shining their light purposefully for Jesus. The pink and purple cover with a little silver glitter accenting the cover is attractive for any girl.
I just love the way this devotional has little “bright ideas” throughout the book. Here’s an example of one that it is such a great way to take action on Biblical principles:
Take turns with a friend telling each other one thing that you are grateful for. Can you each come up with a list of ten? How about twenty? When you finish, say a little prayer to thank God for the things on your lists.
And one more:
Circles are everywhere. A happy face, pizza, DVD and basketball hoop are all circles. Look around you for other circles. Count how many you find. Did you notice that circles have no beginning or end? That’s how it is with God’s love. It goes on forever.
This cute book is recommended for ages 4-7. However, I should tell you that while a four year old might be able to process this book if coached through, I feel that this book is more appropriate for ages 6-9.
That said, I’m guessing you might just want one for your daughter or granddaughter or Sunday School class, perfect for Easter! You can order this book HERE and today, I’m privileged to give one away. Woohoo!
Follow the Rafflecopter instructions and I’ll see you tomorrow!
