Praying through Life’s Battles Part 1 Bible Reading Challenge: For the Warring

Welcome to the Praying through Life’s Battles Part 2 Bible reading challenge!

Sometimes the battles of life hold you for a while. They don’t let up. You pray, you go to sleep, you get up, and the fight is still there waiting for you. It might be that you are caregiving for a parent with Alzheimer’s or living in pain due to injury. It could be a lifelong diagnosis or a season of job loss. In Part 1 of this challenge, we sat with the weariness. We learned that God sees us when we’re worn down and barely hanging on. We remembered who He is.

Now we step into the fighting season of the battle.

Part 2 is For the Warring. Here’s what I’ve learned in my own battles: in the warring of the battle, we must reflect on what God has done. Praise becomes a weapon that turns worry into worship. And it reminds us of the truth my daughter Taylor memorized when she was little: the battle is the Lord’s. Over the next 30 days, we’ll spend time in the Scriptures behind Part 2 of Praying through Life’s Battles, Days 31 through 60.

New here or missed Part 1?

Jump right in with Day 31(1 Samuel 17:47).

You don’t need to have done Part 1 first. The days are numbered 31 to 60 so they line up with the devotions in the book. If you’re reading along, just open to Day 31 and start there.

And if you want to go back and catch up on Part 1: For the Weary later, you’ll find it here.

Bible Reading Challenge

Introduction

Each month I host a Bible reading plan and journal challenge to help our community enjoy reading God’s Word together and encourage our hearts to be faithful to Him.  Together, we have completed over 35 Bible reading plans, including both annual and monthly reading challenges. I’ve developed all sorts of strategies to help us read God’s word faithfully and there is nothing like this monthly system we are working through together.

Friend, whatever you’re fighting right now, you don’t fight it alone. Let’s open God’s Word together and let Him remind us who goes before us. Lord, You are the One who fights for us. When the battle rages, teach us to praise You before we see the victory. Turn our worry into worship. Remind us that the battle is Yours. In Jesus’ name, amen. Ready? We’ll begin October 1st, just as we do each month!

By His grace,

Rachel
