Welcome to the Praying through Life’s Battles Part 1 Bible reading challenge!
Some battles announce themselves with a phone call or a closed door. Others just wear you down a little more each day until you can barely remember what rest felt like. Either way, weariness has a way of convincing you that you’re facing it alone and that God has stopped listening.
He hasn’t.
When my daughter Taylor was only four years old, her Sunday school teacher asked her to memorize a verse: “The battle is the Lord’s” (1 Samuel 17:47).
That short line from the David and Goliath story became a guiding light for our whole family as we walked alongside her on her journey with a rare genetic disorder. The verse reminded me, over and over, that our struggles are not ours alone to carry. We can hand them to the One who fights for us.
That’s where this challenge begins. Over the next 30 days, we’ll spend time in the Scriptures behind Part 1 of Praying Through Life’s Battles: For the Weary. These passages remind us who God is when we’re running on empty. Not because we’ve found the strength to win, but because the battle was never ours to win in the first place.
The battle is the Lord’s.

Introduction
Each month I host a monthly Bible reading plan and journal challenge to help our community enjoy reading God’s Word together and encourage our hearts to be faithful to Him. Together, we have completed over 35 Bible reading plans, including both annual and monthly reading challenges. I’ve developed all sorts of strategies to help us read God’s word faithfully and there is nothing like this monthly system we are working through together.
