Welcome to the Soul Secure Bible reading plan week 1 summary! Here we are; already one week into April’s Bible reading challenge.  For those of you who are here for the first time, each month I host a daily Bible reading challenge and each week, we glance back at the Bible reading plan and journal. We review the verses I highlighted in the daily reading. This week has been a memorable one of reading God’s Word together; I’ve been personally reminded that worrying not only accomplishes nothing, it prevents us from doing the work God has called us to do.

Psalm 127:1-5

It’s the first day of our April Bible reading plan and what a great way to begin by focusing on the resurrecting power of Jesus! He who conquered death controls every circumstance. Allowing worry to keep us awake at night won’t solve a single matter. Rest well and remember you are His. #soulsecurejournal #biblereadingplan

Isaiah 35:1-10

An anxious heart isn’t something always visible. I don’t know what secret burden or worry you carry. But Jesus does. With many holidays, the day after we quickly move on to the next thing. Jeremiah 17:5-10

 

I don’t know what shape your drought has appeared in. Maybe an aging parent turned ill is your drought. Or a rebellious child turned wayward. Perhaps a disease awaiting testing. When the roots of trust run deep, drought wont’t make you worry. Because you know beyond doubt that when things seem out of control, God is always in control. Matthew 6:22-34

 

Worrying accomplishes nothing. It doesn’t build anything, encourage anyone, or change any circumstance. Fret and fear negate God’s work in our lives! Let’s choose to believe God will provide because he promises he will supply our needs. Let’s choose to believe He will heal broken relationships because that’s what He does. Let’s choose to believe that his deepest desire is for heart change and worrying about it all? Changes nothing. It simply renders us motionless, which is the enemy’s goal. Let’s squelch worry on this Wednesday remembering that if he cares so much for the lilies of the field and the birds of the air, then yes, the details are all in His power! #winningoverworry #soulsecure#biblereadingplan

Luke 12:22-31

If the God who crafted the entire universe looks after the birds and tiniest of insects, then why do I dare to think He is forgetting me? Why do you dare to think he is forgetting you? Our Father knows our needs before we ever realize them ourselves! Make it a thriving Thursday free from worry and resting in his care. Today’s action from the #soulsecurejournal ? Immediately surrender the worrisome thought to God in prayer. #biblereadingplan

Philippians 4:1-7

 

When the enemy fills us with worry and doubt, no matter our location, frustration, or indignation, prayer with a thankful heart changes a worrier into a warrior. Not because of our words, but because of God’s power! Hallelujah. #soulsecurejournal #biblereadingplan

1 Peter 5:1-7

He cares for you. He cares so much that he gave his life for you. He cares so much that he only ever wants the best for you. He cares so much that he times every moment of your life perfectly.
