In His Presence Bible Reading Summary Week 4

Welcome to the In His Presence Bible reading summary week 4! Wow, this month has absolutely flown! We only have two more days of the reading left. Incredible!

My intention was to have the February Bible reading challenge up already, but it will go up later today so we can be prepared to begin on Monday.  In the mean time, let’s take  a look at what God had for us during our reading times this week. Ready?

Jeremiah 23:23-28

Sometimes God knows we need a line of questioning to remember that he is with us. We try to go on our merry way without him. And things go sour. We wonder why. Then remember to invite God into the situation. He is with us. Right here. Right now. I’m going to remember that one thing today! Want to join me?

1 John 2:1-6

It’s not too tough to say how much we love Jesus if we’ve asked him to be our Savior. But living out love is the test of our faith in Christ. Choosing to act on his heart prompts to love on others is truly loving him. How can we live this today right where we are? By loving folks right where we are. This step reveals that yes, we have been #inhispresence My challenge for today is to ask God to show me the best ways to be a channel of his love to others. No matter who, when, or where.#biblereading 1 John 2:1-6

Phil. 3:8-12

This isn’t my best artwork but the truth is that my time to journal was interrupted. One of my kids needed to talk. So the concept of this verse is still soaking in. Verse 10: “My goal is to know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings.” I’m with ya, Paul. #inhispresence #biblejournaling#biblereading Philippians 3:8-12

Romans 8:5-9

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) #biblereading#inhispresence Romans 8:5-9 NLT

If we can remember this one thing, that we have the power of the Holy Spirit working in and through us? Then how can we ever feel powerless!

2 Chron. 30:18-20

Did you catch what happened in our #biblereading today? God answered prayer! This is what happens when we spend time #inhispresence . It’s such a beautiful thing! There’s another observation from this passage that I couldn’t pass up. We often think others should have their act together and follow the rules, especially fellow Christians. God dropped the standard of regulations on the people because he saw their hearts. I felt this passage speaking that God is a lot more concerned about the healing of hearts than he is the keeping of rules. Something for me to ponder today. 

Psalm 63:1-8

Little ol’ me. Cause I know he holds the whole world in his hands, but sometimes this world seems like an awfully big place, know what I mean? So glad he’s got the whole world in his hands, but he holds on to ME! Psalm 63:1-8 for#inhispresence #biblereading#biblejournaling #illustratedfaith

Acts 17:24-28

We love life and make happiness our pursuit. But true life, abundant life, is only found when we enjoy it with the One who created us. It is only#inhispresence that we can be truly fulfilled. #biblereading

Psalm 14:1-7

The LORD looks down from heaven on the children of man,
to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.

I didn’t have the opportunity to post on social media on this day of the reading, but I felt like this passage served as a reminder that he is seeking after us continually.

Isaiah 30:15-18

As a busy society and culture, it goes against the grain to have quiet time with God. Yet, he whispers to our hearts that if we do this, it is #inhispresence that we will find strength. Psalm 119:141-152

Whenever the nearness of God seems distant, he is still near. He didn’t promise that he would be with us for only a moment or day or season. His promises are true!
