In a world of chaos and confusion, discovering a peaceful setting feels like finding a gold mine. Does it seem that way to you?

4 Ways to Experience Peaceful Prayers

Shining and glistening away from busy distractions and disturbances, a few moments of quiet is a beautiful gift. My hope is that you are experiencing quietness in your current season of life, even if for only a few moments at a time.

While taking time to enjoy tranquil environments and serene locations is wonderful, finding true peace is critical, especially in the midst of disorder and in spite of imperfect conditions.

I love candles, but we can’t always stop to light one, right? And I enjoy a cozy fireplace, but it’s not always a feasible solution. If you’re longing for less rush and more reserve, then take in these 4 ways to experience peaceful prayers.

Find comfort in the fact that God is listening to you.

The God of heaven and earth, your Creator, hears your voice. His ear is ever listening. This fact amazes me! The noise of culture and society has never been louder than the present. Yet in spite of the volume, God hears your heart and longs to listen to your voice. Take a minute and remember that your God is waiting to be invited in. He wants you to share each of your thoughts with Him.

But know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him. Psalm 4:3

Fill your mind with peace-filled truths.

The enemy tries to steal the peace we have in Jesus and the oldest trick in his book? Lies. If he can get you to feed your mind with half-truth clutter, then he will.

Maybe taking a break from social media for a day would help. Or shutting off the tv. Turning off the phone for a few hours is a great idea to promote peace.

But after you shut out any lies, replace the lies with truth. Take a few moments to meditate on Bible verses that remind you to embrace the peace of the Holy Spirit.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15

Focus on the presence of God through worship.

Whether facing chaotic situations or heart turmoil, pausing to worship can open your eyes to reveal God’s presence.

Since my Taylor girl graduated to heaven, I sometimes get preoccupied with life’s circumstances. I never want to forget the closeness of the Lord. That he is only a whisper away. That even when I can’t find words to pray, his spirit lives in me and fills me with peace.

Focusing on his presence brings a comfort and peace I can’t explain. There is power in giving him praise. So whenever I can remember to pause and give thanks and praise? His presence covers me. I experience his perfect peace.

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 NLT

Fuel your soul through listening to what God is speaking to you.

I can’t tell you how God speaks to you. But I know He makes himself known to me. When I open my prayer life to not only speaking, but also listening, then I am making myself available to hear his whispers to my heart. Letting him know that I want to hear his voice provides energy to walk in his strength.

Be still, and know that I am God! Psalm 46:10
