  1. Kind of springing from what Christia said, it is so important to guard our hearts. Time after time in the Bible there are instances of people hardening their hearts. We, even as Christians, need to be so careful to stay close to God and keep a clean heart. Jeremiah 17:9 says that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. I don’t say that to damper the heart verses but just to say that it is so important to let God create in us a clean heart (Psalm 51:10).
Thanks so much for sharing these verses. I have a Bible app on my iPad…just a plain Bible with no study notes and all. I’ve not played with it much because I like to actually have my Bible in my hands, but I used the search (I didn’t even realize there was a search on there) to find heart verses. There are a ton of them! I think I now have a new study tool…thanks for helping me find it! 🙂

  2. Also love Phil 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
It is interesting how many times in the Bible God tells us to guard our hearts. I am not a seminary student but I dare to say it is one of the more repeated commands throughout the Good Book. How interesting that of all the things He takes interest in one of the most specific is the plan and command to watch over our hearts. Then again I think of all the vile filth which enters our lives day in and day out and can only think this is so divine and so worthy. Thank goodness for a God who understands so much more than we ever will. I can only pray for the will to follow and trust.
