Friday is here and so is the Bible reading summary for the week! Hooray! How is your Bible reading going this week? I think February is one of those months that is a little blah. My mama used to say that while February is the shortest month of the year, it seems the longest of the year and sometimes, I sure believe that to be true. However, can I just reiterate that the True Love Bible reading plan and journal is challenging me in the truest sense of the word? I’m loving it! So let’s check out the True Love Bible reading challenge week 1 summary!
Mark 12:28-34
February 1st and the new #biblereadingplan plan begins today! Whose making their way through #truelovejournal ? Lots to reflect on from Mark 12 already!
Romans 5:1-8
He gave his one and only son at just the right time. But he didn’t leave us alone. He then poured his love right in to our very souls. The Holy Spirit is living inside of us, showing us the way. Love directs. #biblereadingplan #truelovejournal
Think about that and you’ll rest well tonight! #truelovejournal#biblereadingplan
Romans 8:31-39
“neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation” Somewhere along the line, you thought that relationship gone sour made you unlovable. Somehow you’ve classified that rotten circumstance as “something else” instead of placing it in the “anything else” category of Romans 8:28&29. Somehow you’ve thought that you are unlovable. Nothing could be farther from the truth! You are loved with a love that CANNOT be removed from you. You are loved with a love that empowers and equips you to love others. You are loved with a love that goes beyond life and death, all spiritual powers, all earthly rulers, all the past, present and future. There is nowhere too far that God’s love is not extended to you and seeking to enfold you. There’s no place that his love can’t reach! He loves us; oh how he loves us! Enjoy a fabulous Friday with the knowledge of God’s inseparable love! #truelovejournal#biblereadingplan
Matthew 22:34-40
Love the Lord your God. The first commandment didn’t seem too regimented. Or too long. Or demanding. but I wish I knew the response to the second commandment: Love others. I think I may have gulped really hard had I been standing there to hear the Master say these words. The world is full of seemingly unlovables, yet we are called to love. What do I need to remember about God’s love for me? What is one thing I can do today to offer my life up to God? #truelovejournal#biblereadingplan
Psalm 42:8-11
By day and by night, his love never leaves us. Thankful for another day of God’s love surrounding me! Happy Sunday! #truelovejournal#biblereadingplan #biblereading
1 John 4:7-13
Oh how much he loves us! So much that he gave his one and only son to die for our sins. So when his love is poured into our hearts, the overflow spills out and we love others. With his love, not our own. Without his love, our love is severely limited. But with his love? We’re empowered to love everyone. Oh Jesus, may we embrace and rely on your love as we walk life this Monday! #biblereadingplan #truelovejournal#biblereading
“Love grows best in houses just like this.” I’ve been thinking over this little quote since I hung it in the hall last week. You see, our house is definitely not terrible, but it is far from ideal for our family. Our laundry room is in the unfinished section of the basement. #whothoughtofthis #laundrypartyof8 Our pantry holds enough for about 3 meals and 3 snacks at a time. #largefamily So we are constantly shifting bulk products to and from the basement and garage. No big deal, just thankful for all we have. Truly. Three of our girls are crammed into one room: 2 grade schoolers and 1 teenager. Use your imagination on that one. And the hardest issue with space is that Taylor, our special needs girlie, doesn’t have a room on the first floor and can’t really maneuver stairs. Friday when I took her to the doctor, I had to scoot her from step to step in a sitting position. All 12 steps. So why did I hang this sign? Because true love doesn’t know limitations. And love doesn’t grow best in ideal floor plans– it grows best where it is cultivated and fostered. So instead of focusing so much on what I’d like to change, I’m determined to focus on what matters most: Encouraging loving hearts no matter the circumstances and living love to the fullest because God’s love is spilling out of me. Folks coming though our hallway see a cute little quote. I see God whispering a reminder to my heart. #hearttalks #truelovejournal #journaling
When the sunshine danced over this quote this afternoon, I felt like it was a personal reminder of God’s love. When I’m feeling overwhelmed and even questioning his direction, he continues to direct. So thankful for his faithfulness! #truelovejournal #biblereadingplan#journaling
1 John 4:14-20
Need more love capacity? I sure do. There is a simple one-word solution: abide. What does “abide” really mean? Read his love letter to you. Spend time getting to know him. Maybe write a love letter to him in return like we are doing in the #truelovejournal this month. When we are up close and personal with the Lord, our love tanks fill up and overflows. Love is relationship, not rocket science, right? Have a terrific Tuesday drawing close to his love! ❤️ #biblereadingplan #biblereading
Zephaniah 3:17-20
For the one who struggles to feel valued, remember that he rejoices over you with singing. For the one with an anxious heart, he quiets anxiety with his love. Thank you, Lord, for loving us on this wonderful Wednesday! May we live in the beauty of that knowledge today. #biblereadingplan #biblereading#truelovejournal
John 13:34&35
Oh to have a thoughtful Thursday full of loving others from the overflow of his love in our hearts! Jesus, may it be so. Amen. Thrive today! #truelovejournal #biblereading#biblereadingplan
I’m a list kind of girl. It’s the way I roll and the way God made me. But sometimes my lists cause me to miss the most important opportunities– the ones that allow me to offer love. The #truelovejournal is challenging me this month! #biblereadingplan #biblereading#journaling What about you?
This sums up our weekly Bible reading through Friday. My prayer today is that you are loving this Bible reading plan and the journal. I’ve heard from so many of you already about what a difference it’s making in your life to write a love letter to God each day through the journaling. Discipline provides beautiful results; in this case, a huge awareness of God’s love for me and a deeper level of intimacy in my relationship with him. Praying the same for you!
Much love in Christ,
Rachel
