Welcome to The Light Bible Reading Challenge week 2 summary! It’s Friday and our weekly check-in day to cheer each other on. I’m looking forward to hearing what you’ve been learning. Let’s take a peek at the summaries for the week.
John 12:30-36
The last two verses of this passage became my focus as I read.
Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.”
John 12:44-50
So that everyone who believes in me would not remain in darkness. The reason the baby was born in Bethlehem and the reason we celebrate the Light this season.
Psalm 119:105-112
“Lord, give me life through your word.” And so the word provides both light and life. Amen.
Psalm 56:1-13
Thank you Lord, for keeping our feet steady and for giving us light for the path of life. We ask you to walk with us today. Guide us and lead us in your mercy and grace. Amen.
For you delivered me from death, even my feet from stumbling, to walk before God in the light of life.
Psalm 97:1-12
Light dawns for the righteous, gladness for the upright in heart. Be glad I Yahweh, you righteous ones, and praise his holy name. Psalm 97:1-12 for #thelight#biblereading The Light gives us reason to rejoice. Count your blessings as you go throughout your day today!
Need a little light and gladness? Try a spiritual heart checkup! Has anything been planted that shouldn’t be there? Something taken root that needs pulled out?
Job 12:13-25
That darkness so deep you can feel it surrounding you? No match for the God of heaven.. You see, when things seem out of control, God is always in control. And when you think you’ll never see the light, he is there, ready to shine beyond belief. “Wisdom and strength belong to God; counsel and understanding are his. Whatever he tears down cannot be rebuilt; whoever he imprisons cannot be released…. He reveals mysteries from the darkness and brings the deepest darkness into the light. “
Psalm 19:1-10
When we read the Word and soak it up, a light burns into our souls. We soon realize how much better it is than shiny silver or flashy gold and before you know it, the fire that burns within us shines brightly. Our eyes light with grace and truth that no one can hold a candle to.
That wraps it up, friends! Keep going; I know the bustle of the season tempts us not to focus on what is most important.
Have a fabulous Friday!
By his grace,
Rachel

The Light Bible Reading Summary Week 1
One More Step: Finding Strength When You Feel Like Giving Up
So many good things in this weeks readings! I am loving Living In God’s Heavenly Truth!
The verses that spoke to me this week were
Job 12:16
With Him are strength and prudence. The deceived and the deceiver are His.
I found great comfort in the second part of this verse, that we all belong to God, whether we have been deceived, or have deceived, God still wants to claim us as His!
Psalm 19:7
The law of The Lord is perfect, converting the soul.
Proverbs 4:13
Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; keep her, for she is your life.
Both of these verses struck a chord with me that I need to keep reading Gods word all the time, so that I can live in Gods heavenly truth!
John 12:36
While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of the light.
John 12:46
I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me should not abide in darkness.
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
I am getting better at turning to God before making any decisions, quite difficult for a (former) control freak like me! But also amazingly freeing, to put my life in Gods hands!
Psalm 56:3
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in you.
Yes.
Psalm 97:4
His lightnings light the world; the earth sees and trembles.
This resonated with me as we currently have so e amazing thunder and lightning storms, it really is an amazing display of Gods power, and so beautiful and awesome!
Thanks Rachel for another great week of bible study, I love how your readings are short and to the point, but so meaningful!
