Hey there! It’s Tommy Nelson day! Woohoo!
Around here, that means we have a fab children’s book up for review and today’s fab book is:
The Door Within by Wayne Thomas Batson.
This book is designed for ages 8-11, but the Woj tribe felt that it would be great up through age 13. As an adventure, heart-pounding fantasy, The Door Within keeps tweens and teens on their toes as the main character, Aiden, undergoes some major family changes.
With a move and new school, he attempts to get things off to the right start, but begins to experience nightmares and strange things happening in the neighborhood. His nightmares are no longer confined to his imagination and soon he is part of something he never imagined.
There is an unseen world of good and evil where nightmares are fought and hope is reborn.
The Door Within is part of the Accelerated Reader program used by many public and private schools nationwide. With a 4.5 star ranking on Amazon and over 140 customer reviews, your reader is destined to love the first book in the fascinating trilogy of The Door Within.
If you’d like to purchase this book or the entire trilogy, you can find it right here on Amazon.

This would be GREAT for my 12 year old son. He has recently really started his walk with Christ and he’s had a lot of transitions in the past 6 years of his life, recently moving from England back to Southeast Texas and starting middle school. I hope that I can win this for him but if not I will definitely look into purchasing it for him. Thanks for sharing!
While I have never asked my twin 9 year olds this question, we talk about others doing it all the time. They are very interested in people in other countries who riske their lives for their faith. Maybe I will have to ask. I am always looking for books for my kids to read that have better values than the books offered them at school. Would love to win.
Yes, bullying is a big part of middle school. The know to stand up even if it means they mind get in trouble. Because they know they will not get in trouble at home for standing up for someone.
My daughter says, “Yes!”
We have talked about some things and my teenage daughter is very mature and strong in her faith and love in God. I need to discuss this with my son.
My daughter is in 5th grade this year and this is a great topic for the growth and changes ahead.
I have never asked my teen this but it is a great question! We may have to discuss this soon! 🙂
This looks like something I would have enjoyed reading when I was younger! In fact, I would be interested in reading it now, and then passing it on to my nephew.
This book would be awesome for my oldest on! We just went through an across-state move & he asked me for a new book to read YESTERDAY!!!
Sorry!….”across-COUNTRY move”. My oldest son is 10. Perfect age for this book!
We have talked about sacrificing everything for God. Both my husband and I are in law enforcement and our children understand the sacrifices we make everyday to save others lives. We try and explain that we need to sacrifice our lives for God as well.
