Hey there! So glad you are here for another week of growing your faith through Bible reading! If this is your first time here, each month, I host a monthly Bible reading challenge and each week we take a look back at the previous week of Bible verses. Last week, I shared our family’s struggles a bit and how this month’s challenge on waiting for God is such an important topic for us. You’ll find that post, as well as all other resources for this month’s Purposeful Pause: Waiting on God’s Perfect Timing, at the end of this post. Let’s review!
Isaiah 26:4-9
This morning I am believing that those who say “it is well with my soul” are those who wait well. It’s a good day to follow through on carving out time with the Lord! Have a super Saturday. #purposefulpausejournal#biblereadingplan
Isaiah 33:1-6
Our wait. Our salvation. Essentially? Our Rescuer. Jesus, may we remember that you love us too much for the wait to be a waste. Help us remember that Your timing is always perfect. #purposefulpausejournal #biblereadingplan
Lamentations 3:25-33
It is good to wait quietly for the Lord. I’m not good at waiting. But I long to grow in my understanding and enjoyment of the wait. You too? Make it a marvelous Monday! #purposefulpausejournal#biblereadingplan
Hosea 12:1-6
I am feeling like God is not going to answer this particular request and our family will keep waiting and waiting. It’s hard and has caused tears. But in today’s #purposefulpausejournal#biblereadingplan , I’m reminded again that He is faithful!!!! And more specifically, the highlighted verse reminds me to ask for his strength to wait well. Hope your Tuesday’s terrific! #biblereading#preachingtomyownheart#praisehimanyway
Romans 8:19-27
We wait because we can’t always see what God is doing. But we can believe Him for Who He is. In the mean time, our patience and understanding of His work in our hearts grows. ? Can you see the gift in waiting for God? Have a wonderful Wednesday! #purposefulpausejournal#biblereadingplan
Psalm 25:1-5
Father, you know I’m not good at waiting. But today I’m learning in the wait. You are the Master Teacher and I trust that your timing is perfect. You saved me. You sustain me. You sharpen me. The truth is that I need the wait to help me see and know your truths. May my heart be willing to wait until I can see your work. Because You are worthy. Thank you, Jesus. Amen. #purposefulpausejournal#biblereadingplan
Psalm 25:6-12
All.the.paths. Even when it feels like I’m waiting on God to orchestrate the details, I can rest in his steadfast love and faithfulness. My part is to obey His Word; His part is fulfilling His promises. Have a fabulous Friday knowing that God is working through the wait! #biblereadingplan#purposefulpausejournal
Psalm 25:13-18

Psalm 25:19-22
Waiting on God is difficult. We feel abandoned (He promises to never leave us or forsake us!) We get weary. (The Lord is our strength.) We want to rush ahead and apply our own fix. (He is the ultimate Redeemer.) So during this wait, let’s make the choice to slow down. To purposefully pause. And to lift up the Scriptural encouragement for today!
Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me!
Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
for I wait for you.
Have a super Saturday!
