Have you ever heard a little one say to her mama, “But you said!”?

I used to think of God as a parent like me. I never liked it when my kids used the phrase “But you said…” because I didn’t think they understood my words. It usually meant there was an exception to what I said, and they didn’t appreciate that. Or it meant the child had an attitude and sought a way to get what she wanted.

But God doesn’t parent as we do. He is not human, with flaws and failures. When He makes a promise, He never changes that promise. Ever. Not only does He not change or vary, but He loves for His children to express His promises back to Him. His Word never returns void.

Praying God’s promises is a beautiful expression of prayer. When we remind God of His Word, He is pleased for two reasons. 1. He is pleased that we know His Word. 2. He is pleased to receive the glory in fulfilling His Word.

We can’t pray the promises if we don’t know the promises, right? What does it mean to pray with promises? What is a list of God’s promises? The Praying the Promises Bible reading plan and journal identifies 31 promises of God that we can pray in confidence!

Are you ready to join me on the journey of knowing and claiming God’s promises? I hope so!

April’s Bible reading plan topic is:

Praying the Promises

Introduction to the Challenge

Each month I host a monthly Bible reading plan and journal challenge to help our community enjoy reading God’s Word together and encourage our hearts to be faithful to Him.  Together, we have completed over 35 Bible reading plans, including both annual and monthly reading challenges. I’ve developed all sorts of strategies to help us read God’s word faithfully and there is nothing like this monthly system we are working through together.

Many readers have requested that I list our monthly resource at the beginning of this announcement post because you already know you want it and don’t need the details. So here you are! This month’s journal is available for purchase as a digital download. I pray that you find it a blessing and that your understanding of the Scriptures and your prayer life is increased.
