A Prayer for When I Feel Rejected
Dear Father,
With discouraged spirit,
I bow before you;
My head is bent in both humility and despair.
Feeling unwanted delivers a sting
Like nothing else can.
The arrows of rejection shoot into my soul
And pierce through all hope.
“Why does no one want me?”
I ask myself.
But then I come to You-
A man of sorrows, fully acquainted with grief.
Maligned by religious leaders.
Misunderstood by your family.
You who was despised and rejected
Forever waits with open arms
For one like me.
I am accepted in the Beloved.
Praise you, Jesus.
Amen.
Thank you for sharing this prayer, it is truly straight from the heart. As an ordained minister , I have experienced that horrid feeling of rejection and discouragement. It can often times feel very personal. .I have found that one of the most difficult conditions to achieve is to have a tough skin and a soft heart. Through His Word I am encouraged to love people, and hold them tightly. And once again through His Word, I resolve to think back to my call to ministry.
Romans 15:13 reads, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” God is a God of hope. God can change our rejected and discouraged hearts so we can abound on hope. He is faithful!

Bless you. Love that verse and thank you for sharing!
Rachel,
Thank you so much for this prayer. It will be said many times I am sure. I have fought this feeling all my life, and after what I have been through this past week and what I live in on a daily basis, I totally believe that God led you to doing this prayer today. My heart does hurt like nothing else when you feel rejected and the only one that really does want us and love us just as we are is indeed our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you again for this prayer, and may God Bless you and yours.
Bless you, Debbie! He sees and cares about every detail. May the confidence of His grace overpower those feelings!!
beautiful, thank you.
