Has the ugliness of life stolen your ability to see beauty in each day? The world is full of evil and having the wisdom to recognize it and yet embrace the beauty of life seems to be more difficult than ever. The only truth that will help is God's Word!

Welcome to the March 2018 Bible reading plan and journal challenge! February Bible reading challenge has blessed me beyond measure and our Facebook group has been a HUGE bonus! I just love seeing you all interact with each other, encouraging and praying for the needs of one another. You bless me. If this is your first time here, then welcome! Together, our community have completed over 25 Bible reading challenges, including annual reading challenges and monthly reading challenges. I’ve developed all sorts of strategies to help us continue to stay in God’s word faithfully and there is nothing like this monthly system we are doing together. I’ll explain why below. But what is our Bible reading focus for the month of March?

March 2018 Bible Reading Plan and Journal Challenge

Has the ugliness of life stolen your ability to see beauty in each day? The world is full of evil and having the wisdom to recognize it and yet embrace the beauty of life seems to be more difficult than ever. The only truth that will help is God’s Word!

The 21st book of the Old Testament, Ecclesiastes, has always intrigued me. Solomon, known as the wisest who ever lived, wrote this sermon in his older years. His reflections on life and its meaning provide both practical and inspiring tips for every day. Specifically, Ecclesiastes chapter 3 has captured the attention of many readers and scholars alike. I believe that is because it unfolds the mysteries of the one commodity we cannot gain more of- time.

God has made everything beautiful. There is no question about that. But what I love so much about the verse above is that phrase “in its time.” Folks, there are ugly times in life. In fact, one of mine comes every morning when I attempt to wake up, with messy hair and half-open eyes. The interesting part of discovering beauty in life is that we have to be aware of the season. Beauty doesn’t look the same to everyone at all times, right?

This month’s Bible reading challenge is to discover and focus on beauty in God’s Word and in our lives.  Whether indoors or out, let’s find beauty “in its time” right where we are. You ready to join me for the Everything Beautiful Bible reading challenge?

Even in the glaring face of evil, God’s beauty still reigns. Let’s get into His Word to refocus on his seasonal elegance!  Even in the glaring face of evil, God's beauty still reigns. Let's get into His Word to refocus on his seasonal elegance! Click to Tweet

EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL BIBLE READING CHALLENGE

Welcome to the Everything Beautiful Bible reading challenge! If you’ve never joined a Bible reading challenge here before, each day we follow the plan and read the passage. You can share what you are learning on social media or just keep it between you and God. My goal through the reading is to draw closer to Jesus, and I want that for you too!

For this month, we will use the hashtags #everythingbeautiful and #biblereadingplan. Almost every day, I post on Instagram or Facebook about what I’m learning through the passages and sometimes I post the Bible journaling pages I work on throughout the study.

On Fridays, I post a summary of what I learned through the week here on the blog and invite you to share what God is teaching you in the comments.

JOIN THE FACEBOOK GROUP

If you’d love to share and build your Bible reading experience with others, then our community Facebook group is a great place to connect. My awesome ministry partner, Mindy, is leading this group. You are going to love her so much! She and I have worked together this entire year to build and create this format and foster it to be what God would have. This group allows me the opportunity to share on a more personal level through weekly Facebook live videos and other relevant content.

ABOUT THE BIBLE READING PLAN AND JOURNAL

It’s hard to believe that it’s been  over a year since God began working in my heart to step the monthly Bible Reading Challenge up another notch. Personally the Lord has convinced me that soaking in his word each day is the best soul treatment I could possibly encounter. So while our community has completed Bible reading challenges for several years, I knew God was asking me to provide a stronger tool than the simple Bible reading plan printable I offer each month.

As a result, I created a Bible reading plan and journal combination. This resource is designed to provide a topical theme for 31 days of Bible reading passages so that it can be completed any month of the year.

IMPORTANT NOTE

I truly long to provide practical, spiritual resources because I know that is a work God has called me to do. Throughout this year, I have made changes to the format. A couple months back, I expanded the journal from one page a day to two pages a day, and yet I believe it is still something the average person can complete within a reasonable span of time on a personal level.

If you’re looking for an in-depth Bible study, these slim Bible study guides may not be the right fit for you. (Check out this FREE video Bible study for more depth!)

I designed these particular Bible reading plans and journals to be doable on a consistent, daily basis.

This is not a Bible study with large amounts of developed content; it is a tool to be used for you to grow personally. The objective is for you to read and grow to know God’s word for yourself. I’ll be honest, using the journal is a spiritual discipline. But it’s a habit that works in spite of feelings or failures. The benefits enjoyed are astounding!

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

Here are a few comments about the journals we’ve developed:

I’m so loving this reading plan and journal! While I’ve done your reading plans with my girlfriends, this is the first time I’ve used the journal. Prayer-life changing! As a seminary student, I’m in the Bible daily, but this short journaling exercise is focusing and refining my prayer life tremendously! Thank you for your obedience to God in creating this tool.

Love the simple format! As a mom of little ones, it is so doable! Thank you!

Thank you for doing these. They help me so much not only to encourage me to read my Bible more, but to apply what I read.

Love these journals! Please keep them coming!

  1. I’ve seen that the journal is only available on paper back. Is it now available to be bought digitally?
I live in The Netherlands and purchasing something in the US means it takes ages to arrive.
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards, Ingrid

    1. Hi Ingrid! I’m sorry, but we do not yet have digital options available. We are working on future options! Stay tuned! 🙂

  2. Stacey Sievert says:

I am not finding the list of Bible passages for March. I saw them one time and now cannot find them to have them ready for Thursday. Where can I get them????

  3. Margaret Florence says:

  4. Lana W Martin says:

Thank you for this bible reading and the time it took for you to pull this together! I am in a tight position right now,at the age of 68, I am caring for my 13 year old grandson who has Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy. I need to stay in God’s word each day as I parent and care for this young man! As hard as it is, I love him dearly and want for him a safe and loving environment to grow in! thank you for your ministry

    1. Oh Lana, my heart goes out to you. I can’t imagine all the energy this requires of us. Praying for God to provide the daily strength you need.
      Blessings!!

    2. Lana, I am a grandma and just your age. I can so relate to you as my brother had Duchenne muscular dystrophy. It is hard to watch and very demanding for the caregivers. I remember my dad having to get up during the night, every night, to turn my brother over in bed.

I will put you on my prayer list. God will reward you richly for this labor of love.

      God bless,
      Mrs. T
