Irreversible Gifts

God never ceases to amaze me in the ways He speaks to me. Earlier this evening, I allowed myself to take a little time to vent to my husband about my feelings on a few issues. Frustration over things that are out of my control. Impatience over God’s timing.
Just clicked over to the website of one of my favorite authors and Bible teachers, Priscilla Shirer, at Going Beyond ministries. Priscilla did an interview with Darlene Zschech, singer at Hillsong and incredible songwriter. Priscilla asked Darlene to talk to moms about ministry. Two points alerted me:
- God’s gifts are irreversible. Romans 11:29 “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (ESV) I loved reading the translations of this verse. “without repentance” “can never be withdrawn” In other words, end of story. God’s call on your life and the gifts He has given you are not going anywhere!
- However, “To every thing there is a season; a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiates 3:1 Darlene spoke about being sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading and recognizing what season of life you are in.
Thank you, Lord, for this season. Watch the interview for yourself!
