Luke 19:1-10

The story of the wee little man holds far more meaning than a sweet children’s song. Zaccheus was a changed man who opened not only the door of his house, but also the door of his heart. The Israelites were reminded of the closeness of their God. A call away. And the same God is a call away for us today. He is so close; how can we keep our distance? Jesus, we need you. Your guidance, your mercy, your wisdom. Be with us today, every step.#inhispresence Deut. 4:5-10#biblereading

Deut. 4:29-33

Today’s #inhispresence#biblereading passage is one I love. God promised his people that if they would seek him with all their heart and soul, they would find him. Sometimes I think I miss seeing God’s work because my heart is not fully tuned to recognize it. Jesus, may we be all in for you. Heart and soul. #biblejournaling#bibleartjournaling #noteworthytruth

Psalm 34:15-19

 

 

He hears you. When your heart is broken and when your heart is whole. When you pray aloud and when the words don’t make it to your lips. God longs to be close to you and listens for your voice. #inhispresence#biblereading

Psalm 73:21-28

Today’s #inhispresence passage is a song of the wandering soul who returned to his senses. Like an Old Testament prodigal son, the writer expresses his remorse over foolish thinking. But he also expresses his realization that the reason he has made God his refuge is so he can tell about all God has done. If there is one thing I could whisper to you as we passed by each other in this world, it is this: God’s presence is my good. He is the only good you see in me. Without him, I am nothing. Is he your refuge today? Truly? Or did you pass his way for a minute and wave hello, then move on to the agenda of the day? Jesus, we need your presence. James 4:1-8

The God of the universe longs to be with you, his beautiful creation. He wants your spirit to be in total community with him. But in spite of his great longing to maintain the relationship he originally created between humanity and Himself, grace is his luxurious, never-ending gift. Doesn’t that thought make you want to spend your day #inhispresence ?#biblereading James 4:1-8 Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.

James reminds us that the war without- the war we see in this world- all stems from the war within. By drawing near to God, we defeat the enemy who cannot stand God’s presence. Jesus, may we grow closer to you each day. #inhispresence#biblejournaling #noteworthytruth#biblereading 

Isaiah 55:1-7

We’re hungry and thirsty, so we strive to fill our needs. But when we spend time #inhispresence? We find our needs are filled. ” Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live;…”  

Emptiness of soul can only be filled by the fullness of God. – One More Step
