Hope for Hope

The raindrops have fallen most of the day and the tears running down my cheeks for my sweet friends have been no different.  Coming in spurts at times, gushing at others…the weather of the day seemed to reflect my mood, the one where life doesn’t seem fair.  And it is very confusing.

For some, the confusion is cancer.

For some, the confusion is sudden heart failure.

For some, the confusion is rare disease.

For some, the confusion is losing their precious 8 month old daughter to heart surgery.

My heart aches for this dear couple, who so tenderly cared for a little girl who was predicted not to live. In spite of the advice to consider aborting, they chose life over possible sorrow.

But life God gave.  The joy brought by precious Hope was made all the sweeter by the obstacles she overcame.

The confusion enters when God chose this baby to return to Heaven much sooner than any of us desire.  Our minds cannot comprehend the ultimate design of His plan.  And so trust enters.  Trust that Hope is in Heaven and we will have the privilege of seeing her again.

For now we trust.  One day we will understand.

Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.

But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.

Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.

We have hope in the Lord.

And we are so thankful for Hope.
