God Wants to Use You

Do you ever think about what God wants to do with YOUR life? Not your pastor’s. Not your ministry leader’s. Not your spouse’s or child’s life… No- YOUR life. God wants to use you to make a difference in this world!

Many times, we think we are not good enough for God to do something “big” through us. At least I’ve thought this way before. I’ve thought that I’m not good enough, I’ve made too many mistakes in the past, I don’t have the qualifications, or someone else can do a better job than I can.

What we fail to realize is that there is no “big” work for Jesus and “small” work for Jesus. God has a unique plan for every person’s life. He has a design and purpose for your life that only you can fulfill. And whatever it is is HUGE.

This weekend at one of the church services, I spoke to a sweet woman in the choir who was singing in all eight services. She brought Christine Caine’s book, Undaunted, to read between services and I asked her about the book. We chatted for a few minutes (PS: I want to read it too!) and at the end, she said “Christine encourages me to do more for God with my life.” To which I replied, “He’ll show you! His way, his timing.”

A Peek into How God Revealed Part of His Plan for My Life

I’m privileged to announce a beautiful exclusive FREE ebook, What I Wish I’d Known, from Faithlife today! Last Summer Faithlife brought together some women in ministry for a summit in Dallas, Texas. It was a blessed time of sharing testimonies, connecting with other ministry leaders, and learning from one another.

This book offers a compilation of the most powerful and applicable insights that these ladies have to offer. Explore Pam Farrel’s advice on following God’s compass, Elyse Fitzpatrick’s journey to get to the heart of God’s message, and Liz Curtis Higgs’ advice on taking criticism.

I’m thrilled to have the honor of contributing a chapter to this beautiful book!  My chapter contribution is the backstory of my ministry, how God started working in my heart to write and a little peek into the journey of how He worked it out, step by step. He continually amazes me at how his plan for each day unfolds.

PS: I thought you might enjoy the spoken word poetry I gave in the church service introduction this weekend; it’s not the best recording but I thought I’d share anyways. 🙂 I highly encourage listening to the sermon! We had an incredible Easter weekend with so many people coming to know Jesus for the first time!

  1. Very good timing for this message. I am involved with a group that is video driven each week, that I facilitate. for women who have had trauma in their life and are stuck. I don’t do much, I have come to learn I let the videos speak for themselves, ask questions, listen to the women talk, and direct them to use the tools provided through the course. But, I GET to do this.

Something though that I have felt for a long time, and knew the timing wasn’t right, is to help lead a group for families whose adopted children have very challenging behaviors. The very things you have mentioned about me not being qualified, and I have made so many mistakes, but in spite of. etc. I found out recently our region has no support group for the families. through Post Adoption Resource Center.

But, I see a greater vision that I can’t speak out right now. But, I am sensing more and more this will come to pass. I just need to pray, obey, and sit back and watch the movie and God will do this at the right time and in His way!

    Thank you Rachel!

    Blessings,

    Joanne
