Do you believe He’s “got the whole world in his hands” as the children’s song says? Or does it seem like what you’re facing today is bigger than anything or anyone?
August’s God Is Bigger Bible reading challenge certainly encouraged me to remember that God cannot be placed in a box. I typically summarize the week of reading on Fridays, but because the month has concluded on the weekend, I wanted to wrap up all we learned from this reading plan. So here we have the last four days of August’s challenge.
Ephesians 3:7-13
Ephesians 3 is one of my favorite portions of Paul’s letters to the churches. Verse 20 is a great Scripture to pray to begin the day. There is nothing like beginning the day with the end of this verse, to HIM be the glory. “Jesus may we keep our eyes on you today.”
Ephesians 3:14-21
You know you need to be strong but not feeling it? Pause to reflect on from where you are drawing strength. You want to understand God’s traits? Paul suggests that once you are rooted in love, you will have the power to grasp God’s love but what exactly are we grasping about it? The fact that we can never fully understand it on this earth.
1 Corinthians 2:1-8
“No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.” This passage makes me feel small. And it should. How can I think that I have the potential to wrap my brain around the Creator of the universe? The only power or strength I have comes from him.
1 Corinthians 2:9-16
What a great reminder! It’s so easy for me to forget this simple truth. Faith doesn’t begin with what we know or what we think someone else knows. Faith is based on God’s power. Because #GodIsBigger ! So thankful.

Rachel – Where did you purchase your Bible and who manufactures it? I have been looking for a journaling Bible that has larger margins but with a legible font/print type. Your Bible looks as though it has both features.
Hey Angela! This is the one I’m using: http://www.amazon.com/Journaling-Bible%C2%AE-Holman-Bible-Staff/dp/1433691566 I have a post going up on Monday about how I landed on this choice and why I love it so much. 🙂 It is pretty awesome!
