Have you found yourself in a painful place? Ready to take steps toward the healing process? This daily Bible study will help you do just that!

Welcome to the weekly From Hurting to Healing Bible reading challenge summary! I hope you’ve enjoyed the Scripture passages as much as I have.

Psalm 73:21-28

My favorite verse in this passage is verse 26:

My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Three words in this passage stood out to me at the beginning of the last verse: “but for me.”

I can’t account for anyone else; but I know I need God.

Psalm 107:8-21

Psalm 107:14

There is no addiction too powerful for Jesus to break. There is no sin, no issue, no problem that binds your heart that he cannot resolve. There is nothing too dark for his light to shine through. Walking in the darkness of this world wears a person down and out. But there is no need to walk in darkness.

What bonds are holding you back that Jesus can free for you today?

Revelation 21:1-7

What a comforting Scripture and promise:

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

I’ve received several emails this week from those of you with hurting hearts. There is a day coming that you can look forward to with joy.

One day, Jesus is going to take your precious face in his hands and wipe his thumb across your cheeks. He’s going to look you in the eye and say “There is no need to cry anymore.” And disease and divorce and addictions and failed relationships and homelessness and heartache… it’s all going to be gone. forever.

Romans 8:13-21

Romans818

Paul said that our pain is not even worth comparing to the ultimate results of our lives. Hard to fathom when we are in the midst of it, yet we can cling to God’s Word

Psalm 23:1-6

psalm233

We do not choose to do right because we have to. We should not choose to do right because it’s required for religious status. We choose to let his righteousness shine through us because we love him and want to honor him. Enjoy your soul restoration; God has big plans for you!

Psalm 103:1-10

“Forget not all his benefits”- this phrase is so important to our daily walk with God. Recalling all that God has done for us will encourage our hearts to anticipate what he wants to do in our lives right now.

Psalm 103:11-22

psalm10311

So great is the Father’s love. He loves you so very much. Look up at the sky and know that his love for you is even bigger than that.

  1. I pray everyday that God would heal our family. We have been going through so much the last 6 months. I have cried so many tears. Please pray for God to bring change to our situation and make our daughter herself again. I trust God is working in this situation now and I am waiting in Faith.

  2. thank you so much for this…. I really needed these…..

  3. Love this challenge, Rachel. I cannot wait for the day Jesus wipes all my pain and sorrows away and brings me home.

As I do my daily scripture reading and prayer, I think of what it might have been like to walk with Him as one of the disciples. The awe of it. Did the know? Could they imagine? I often pray, “Lord, just let me feel one minute, one second of the presence your disciples felt when I am feeling lost or discouraged.”

Until that day I just keep living with joy in my heart. There is not a bad day compared to where we would be without Jesus. Blessings to you.
