Didn’t God Get the Memo?

On Wednesday afternoon, Samuel, the ever-thinking kindergartener, was staring out the patio door windows at the gorgeous snow falling.
“Mommy, who makes the snow?”
It was a rhetorical question. So I responded:
“I don’t know, Buddy. Who makes the snow?”
“God,” he says. Long pause.
“Do you think that God didn’t know that we already had the first day of spring?”
Hmmmm. Yep, God knew WE already had the first day of spring. Specified to a calendar day, March 20. But, He doesn’t quite work on our time table.
Oh, we think He should. We go before Him with a list a mile long. Do a ton of talking and frankly, well, a lot less listening. Then when something doesn’t go the way WE had planned, we wonder:
“Didn’t God get the memo?”
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:8-11
Perhaps you have a memo to place on recall about now?
I know I did. Thanks, Samuel. God continually reveals His plans through you and your deep thinking ability.
