Welcome to the March 2019 Bible reading plan and journal challenge! If this is your first time here, then I’m so glad to have you!
Could I ask you to slow down for just a minute as you read this post?
God has called me to host the monthly Bible reading challenge and I’ve done so for almost a decade in obedience to Him.
I also know that after losing our precious Taylor to heaven on January 2, I am focused on listening to the voice of the Lord more than ever before. That’s why I’m excited to walk through March’s Bible reading plan and journal! It’s going to be a challenge for me personally to trust the Lord with all my heart and not lean on my understanding, but I really, truly believe God’s plan is always best. So while my social media time will be limited as our family continues to adjust and adapt to missing our precious Taylor, let’s dig into God’s word and saturate our hearts with truth. Amen?
INTRODUCTION
Each month I host a monthly Bible reading plan and journal challenge to help our community enjoy reading God’s Word together and encourage our hearts to be faithful to Him. Together, we have completed over 35 Bible reading plans, including annual reading challenges and monthly reading challenges. I’ve developed all sorts of strategies to help us continue to stay in God’s word faithfully and there is nothing like this monthly system we are doing together.
ORDER YOUR JOURNAL
Many readers have requested that I list the journal at the beginning of this monthly announcement post because you already know you want it and don’t need the details. So here you are! This month’s journal is Confident Trust: Believing God’s Plan is Best. If the struggle to trust God with your daily circumstances threatens your belief in God’s sovereignty and authority of all things, then this Bible reading plan and journal is perfect for you.
March 2019 Bible Reading Challenge
Trust is a strong word, isn’t it? As a child, I remember a sermon illustration about trust. My pastor placed a chair across the room and began to talk about how much he trusted that chair would be a great fit for him. He walked closer and closer to it, describing its beauty and strength. He even explained how he sat in the chair one time and how comfortable it was. But once he arrived by the chair, he did not sit down. Instead, he stood there and talked about the chair at some length. “I believe this chair will hold me up,” he said, “but until I actually sit down on the chair, expecting it to allow me to sit safely and comfortably, then I’m believing, but not trusting. Do you see the difference?”
Oh my. Yes. It’s easy to talk about God and how wonderful he is. I truly enjoy speaking about all the incredible ways God has worked in my life in the past. He is amazing and I can’t say that enough. But if I’m totally honest with you, trusting him with my daughter’s death is not easy. Just point blank, I need to study the Word to reinforce the truths that God never changes, He is always loving, and his plan is always best.
If you’ve never joined a Bible reading challenge here before, each day we follow the plan and read the passage. You can share what you are learning on social media or just keep it between you and God. My goal through the reading is to draw closer to Jesus, and I want that for you too!
This Bible reading plan and journal will guide you to a stronger walk with Jesus! I am fully convinced of that. If you need accountability and would enjoy seeing the history of your growing relationship with the Lord, this is a fantastic tool for you!
I truly long to provide practical, spiritual resources; I know that is a work God has called me to do. I expanded the journal from one page a day to two pages a day, and yet I believe it is still something the average person can complete within a reasonable span of time on a personal level. If you’re looking for an in-depth Bible study, these slim Bible reading plan and journal guides may not be the right fit for you. (Check out this FREE video Bible study for more depth!) I designed these particular Bible reading plans and journals to be doable on a consistent, daily basis.
