Anything Is Possible
Many times the limitations we see in our lives are not limitations at all.
Limitations are opportunities for us to learn to trust God more. If you lean towards negative thinking patterns or are a “the-glass-is-half-empty kind of person,” then sometimes you need the reminder that anything is possible.
Often we hear this phrase in human context and it’s designed to be a positive-thinking stimulation. But God’s Word contains several verses that emphasize that truly, anything is possible- with God.
Sarah was reminded of this fact when God brought the news she was going to have a baby at 90 years of age.
Is any thing too hard for the LORD? Genesis 18:14
The disciples were reminded of this fact when the topic of how a rich man goes to heaven was brought up. Jesus said a rich man can hardly get to heaven and the disciples were completely astonished. Their thoughts were: “Wow, if a rich man can hardly get to heaven, then who can?” But Jesus replied:
With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
When the angel told Mary that she would be having a baby, she didn’t understand how it could be. But the God whose Son would be born of a virgin gave another word for the angel to speak:
For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37
What’s your impossible today?
- a spouse who doesn’t seem to care about your marriage any longer
- a wayward teenager who needs a heart transformation
- a child who requires all your time because he can’t focus
- a friend who needs Christ instead of that damaging relationship
Regardless of your “impossible,” God says it IS possible. In fact, you know what he does?
MORE than our impossible.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, Ephesians 3:20
Not only is the impossible possible with God, but He wants to do more than the impossible- more than we can ask or even imagine!
Recently I was introduced to this sweet children’s book, God’s Love in My Heart. This book is perfect for teaching your child to believe that God can do anything through you when you are willing. It is also a great reminder that as Christians, God’s love dwells in our hearts. While this sweet little book is designed for ages 0-3, my 5 year old loved trying to read it on her own.

Praying of safety of my children.
My brother’s wedding is later this month and we will be spending well over our budget for accommodations, travel, food, gifts, clothes (since our 3 kids and my husband will actually BE in the wedding), etc. We are praying and believing for everything to work out.

Thanks for this post Rachel. My husband and I are expecting our second child, and neither of us have a vehicle that is sufficient for 2 in car seats, so we will have to buy 2 new vehicles before the birth of this next child. =) We are just relying/trusting/knowing God will make it happen.
I adore this book. Our son is 2 and is really interested in learning. He has done a wonderful job so far in his new “big boy class” at church remembering the lessons they are learning. I just think this book is perfect for where he is at in his walk. =)

I love children’s books like this! I am learning that anything is possible with God. It can be so easy for me to stay in my comfort zone. But when I lean on Him and listen to His Word, I step out and venture into the unknown. It may be scary at times but I know He is with me every step of the way and that’s the difference.
