“Purplicious Courage”, the annual Ohio MPS (mucopolysaccharidoses) Family Gathering, was held Sat., July 9. 2011, from 12-4pm. 16 families with children affected by MPS and ML disorders came from Indiana, Wisconsin, New York, Tennessee and Ohio to celebrate the children and encourage one another. Northwest Bible Church in Hilliard, OH graciously served as the facility and Matt & Rachel Wojnarowski, whose daughter, Taylor, has MPSIIIB, hosted the event for the tenth year.
A wonderful time was experienced by each family as they participated in professional photos, posed for drawings by a caricature artist, and relaxed for a few minutes of massage therapy. Purple decorations with silver stars and beautiful purple flowers adorned the entire room.
Thank you for your courage: Mia, Riley, Megan W., Taylor, Megan R., Andrew, Ava, Nik, Case, Claire, Timmy, Emily, Kent, Garrett, William, and Levi.
Thank you for your financial support of the event:
National MPS Society, Sharon and Bill Glasscock, Angela and Keith Sawyer, Kim Pruett, and Carolyn Wojnarowski.
Thank you for your kind donation of time and party items:
Sabrina Ropp of Virocolor Photo, Diane Hartman of Curves, Regina Gray, Stacey Kirkey, Jennifer Hughes, Penny Petit, Marty Marlatt with Canines for Companions, Barb Pryor, Sharon Cochenour, and Aaron & Heather Conrad and family.
Thank You Jesus for being the Sovereign Savior of my life.
If I missed anyone, I am SO thankful for you; I just have a few loose wires hanging out! and PS: Here’s the photo from the first year we held the event. Yes, we’ve grown a bit. 😉
