A Love Story- Kinda Sorta a Repost

Reflection is good for the soul. Especially when it is reflection on how God has worked in your life. Twelve years ago today I made my way to the Cincinnati Zoo with a bouncy three year old in the back seat. We were tired; it had been a busy week. But my sweet girl, Taylor, was excited to go to the zoo. I was excited too. The plan was to meet a newly found friend and his daughter; the “date” was purposely scheduled with kids in tow. Guess both of us thought we had nothing to lose by laying it all out there.

You see, each of us had mistakes behind us. Mistakes for which God had forgiven us, but we were still reaping the consequences. In His grace and sovereignty, He changed our lives that day at the zoo, by giving us each other.

What amazing mercy and love Matt and I have experienced over the last twelve years.

In human terms:

Back then, we were heartbroken. Now we are whole-hearted.

Back then, we were desperate for His will. Now we continually seek His will.

Back then, we were incomplete. Now we are complete in Him.

Back then, we were searching for blessings.  Now we are seeing the blessings.

I love Psalm 30, especially verses 11 and 12. “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, To the end that [my] glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.”

A picture is worth a thousand words, so two must be worth two thousand at the least.
God is so good! I love you my Matthew.
