Hey there, Friends! It’s hard to believe we are 9 days in to this month’s Bible reading challenge!! This week was the first of summer vacation for my kiddos and we enjoyed it immensely. The Bible reading plan has been exactly what God would have for me as each day seemed to meet the particular needs of the day. Our family experienced a few unexpected circumstances that tempted me to forget my Source of joy. But God is good, gracious and always provides his word to reinforce what the Spirit is whispering to our hearts. Let’s take a look at the Pure Joy Bible reading summary week 1.
Psalm 47:1-9
You know what demolishes discouragement? When you start praising the Lord for all he’s done. Man, the devil hates that. Praise just gets him so frustrated because praise is powerful! You want #purejoy ? Get some praise going! #biblereading

Nehemiah 8:5-10
When we feel like giving up, his strength is still there for us. The choice to keep going usually begins with choosing joy. Joy that our Father knows best and always wants our best. Joy that he can take anything, no matter how terrible, and transform it into life-giving, empowering strength. Whether you stand high on the mountaintop or low in the valley today, let his joy flood your soul in praise for who he is- the God of the universe and your best friend. #purejoy #biblereading#onemorestep

Hebrews 12:1-6
Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross… For the joy set before him, he endured. And so we too can anticipate joy in the midst of trials. #purejoy #biblereading
Psalm 4:1-8
I find joy in the fruit of my labor. I hope that you do too. But nothing tangible in this world can bring joy like the joy of knowing Jesus and having him in our hearts abiding! #purejoy #biblereadingPsalm 4:1-8
