Welcome to Friday and our weekly Bible reading summary! I hope you had a great week. Yesterday we began the Never Alone Bible reading plan. If you missed it, you’ll find all the information at the bottom of this post in the resource section. We need to take a peek at the Praise Him Anyway Bible Reading Challenge Final Summary before we keep moving on with the new plan. I think the August Bible reading plan was one of the most personally challenging that we’ve read through together! Enjoy a few of my thoughts on this week’s reading and I’d love to read about yours in the comments.
Psalm 89:1-8
I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever;
with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.
2 For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever;
in the heavens you will establish your faithfulness.”
3 You have said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one;
I have sworn to David my servant:
4 ‘I will establish your offspring forever,
and build your throne for all generations.’” Selah
5 Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord,
your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones!
6 For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord?
Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord,
7 a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones,
and awesome above all who are around him?
8 O Lord God of hosts,
who is mighty as you are, O Lord,
with your faithfulness all around you?
For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? I loved this question. Because the answer is so obvious. On this particular day of reading, I looked up and just praised the Lord for being incomparable to anyone or anything.
Psalm 95:1-7
When I listen to my Michael in the marching band and I see his instrument lifted, I try to imagine what music will be like in heaven. Today’s passage in the psalms reminds me that we don’t have to wait until then to praise God. We have the opportunity each and every day. “Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!” #praisehimanyway#biblereading
Psalm 104:31-35
The psalmist understood his purpose in life. To glorify God no matter his journey. Meditating on this passage today.#praisehimanyway #biblereading
Isaiah 42:5-13
I give glory to no other. All praise belongs to Jesus!! Wow, after an awesome day like yesterday, this passage is the perfect reminder. I woke up this morning echoing the last worship song I heard yesterday evening…”All the earth will shout Your praise Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are You, Lord!” #praisehimanyway#biblereading
James 5:13-16
Prayer and praise. Valuable tools in walking with Christ. I long to learn to use them more effectively. Mulling over this verse from today’s reading.#praisehimanyway #biblereading
Psalm 150:1-6
And so we have arrived at the final day of the #praisehimanyway#biblereading challenge! It has been so good for me personally. What a reset in my thought and prayer life! May praise continue to be on our lips and in our hearts for our God is worthy of all the praise, honor, and glory.
WOW! That’s all I can say. I loved this plan and am already thinking about when to read through it together again.
Happy Friday!
By his grace,
Rachel
